    Rainbow Pass gives you access to all the islands because there are SEVEN main colors in the rainbow.
    Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet
     
    They were made in seven days. I talk to the NPCs!

    Using roman numerals, that's never been done before.

    There are actually nine islands, but two of them aren't accessible without an event. Also, nine actual colors in the rainbow, but two of them are invisible. Those two would be Infrared and Ultraviolet. ;> Funny how it makes sense.

    What a pointless topic... but to stop any potential bickering I may as well say that the region is called Nanashima in Japanese, which just means "seven island(s)".
    In case you don't get my drift, Pokemon comes from Japan so their name for it is the 'real' one... and it has no special meaning, ta-da.

    Oh and on what Kayashi said: in Japan there are said to be nine colours to the rainbow (as I've read); I think one of them would be the colour between green and yellow, the other's probably an extra one of those purple shades.

    Potential bickering? You almost made me start bickering! Also, I'm not Japanese and quite frankly, my game cartridge isn't either.
     
    Hey, hey, calm down now, this is a forum full of love and peace, not evilness......... sorry, I kicked myself after I read that.......... I won't let it happen again......... now about the Sevii Islands. I think that they are just pointless little islands, that are made to slightly expand the pokeverse. Now if in Fire Red and Leaf Green they went to the Orange Islands, or revisited Johto, that'd be something worthwile.

    The mixture of Yellow and Blue created green, so there's nothing in between them.

    The extra two are the invisible colors before red and after violet (infrared and ultraviolet). :>
