If it makes you feel any better, I assure you we have American equivalents of that sort of thing, and they are -- if anything -- worse. I won't see them for another four years, though. I suppose I understand the anxiety, the standardised exams and high school admissions were about as bad. I can't say I feel sorry for you; that'd be implying that you can't cope with it. I'm just saying, don't worry, and do the best you can. (Oh, and be glad you live under a functional government.)
