This UU Shoddy team has done me a ton of good lately. It has even destroyed some OU teams by holding out against onslaughts for long enough until my sweepers can devastate. It can thrive in the OU metagame, but not very well. Still, I took the honor of adjusting a couple movesets to OU standards.

You can has death now (Scyther) (M) @ Choice Band
    Ability: Technician
    EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
    Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Aerial Ace
    - Brick Break
    - Pursuit
    - X-Scissor

This thing makes an impressive lead. Technician STAB Aerial Ace nails a ton of things for a lot. Since Rotom won't like getting Night Slashed, it'll switch out...not against this thing. Technician Pursuit deals some good damage. I could put U-Turn over X-Scissor, but it'll be fine for now.

    ---
I'm BL material! I'LL SHOW YOU! (Steelix) (M) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Sturdy
    EVs: 252 HP/120 Atk/138 SDef
    Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
    - Earthquake
    - Stone Edge
    - Stealth Rock
    - Roar

So Steelix was moved to UU...I took some fun and tried to put it with this team. It was originally a Choice Bander, but I needed a sturdy wall. It phazes and sets up SR, something that this team will appreciate. I'm still considering Gyro Ball over Stone Edge, but I like the flying-type coverage.

    ---
    I see everything upside-down! (Hitmontop) (M) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Intimidate
    EVs: 252 HP/72 Def/186 SDef
    Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Close Combat
    - Rapid Spin
    - Toxic
    - Stone Edge

Hit a flier, spin away spikes, Hit Tyranitar with Close Combat, you name it. Hitmontop is a nice pokemon and potentially one of the best UUs. However, I wish it had more HP though...

    ---
Tank this, Glaceon! (Ninetales) (F) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Flash Fire
    EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
    Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Energy Ball
    - Flamethrower
    - Nasty Plot
    - Hypnosis

Yeah Glaceon, get past this thing without trouble! Ninetales has destroyed my competition time after time after coming in on a Will-O-Wisp, scaring off the threat, and Nasty Plotting. Can't OHKO it? I sleep it. Ninetales' special defense isn't lacking too much, so it'll take a hit in the process if it has to. I went with Leftovers for more survivability, and it works well.

    ---
the UU Blissey (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Magic Guard
    EVs: 252 HP/6 Def/252 SDef
    Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
    - Wish
    - Ice Beam
    - Thunderbolt
    - Calm Mind

Clefable's versatility is something to be reckoned with, but I just went with a standard CM set this time on a special wall set. I'm considering to drop some special defense for defense, but it works fine now. I have Wish for it to be a team player, but considering Softboiled.

    ---
I'm Uber, but you don't know it yet. (Vileplume) (F) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Chlorophyll
    EVs: 252 HP/180 Def/78 S.Def
    Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Leech Seed
    - Sludge Bomb
    - Aromatherapy
    - Energy Ball

Cleric and T.Spikes absorber, as well as a fire attractor and cleric. It'll Leech Seed sturdy walls and attacking accordingly. This is the Moderate set with a defensive EV spread, still holding an average 236 sp.atk, so it retains offensive capabilities as well.

Uber props go to sims since he loves Vileplume.

    ---

One problem this team faces is absorbing a powerful STAB Psychic. Clefable can, but fears Focus Blast...a lot. Fire will dent this team a good bit if Ninetales isn't around to absorb it. Glaceon's sturdiness will hurt this team if Ninetales falls in battle, so I have to be wary of bringing out Ninetales. Mixed Nidoking can hit nearly everything for super effective damage, so it's an issue.

This team somehow retains its sturdiness, and hurts a lot of teams badly. Ninetales is a shining pokemon on this team since it can just sweep any time it comes across.

But I must ask, is this to be rated as an OU or UU team? As a UU team, I'll just say this...

Physical Nidoking is a really huge problem, even bigger than mixed. Steelix doesn't have anything to take fighting attacks except Vileplume, which isn't especially good at that. Scyther as your ground immunity is playing with fire as well with its SR weakness and generally being fragile.

Anyways I'm gonna rate this as an OU team.

Heracross will give you trouble, your best counter is Vileplume who won't be taking many boosted Close Combats/Megahorns too. Heracross can come in on Clefable and Steelix easily.

Garchomp is also going to give you trouble - Steelix cannot wall straight up and the lack of Ice Attacks other than on Clefable would make Garchomp harder to deal with.

A serious Mamoswine problem, EQ hits almost everything hard except Scyther which is taken down by Ice Shard.

Outside of the offensive spectrum, I find that your team would have trouble trying to break Cresselia, Vileplume and Ninetales are far from reliable options - Ninetales is risking being paralysed by Twave - Vileplume gets beaten by a CM set, takes damage from Ice Beam and is bait for a lot of common OUs to switch in, Metagross and Salamence are prime examples.

I can't recommend fixes since tbh I know little about UU pokemon and the UU metagame.

Steelix might not be able to switch into Nidoking, but it can come for a revenge kill. It will lose over 50% health in the process though.

Stone Edge on Steelix is kinda redundant imo, give it Gyro Ball or Crunch.

    Give Scyther full speed, it needs it! and I don't think outspeeding Garchomp will save you -__-;

    Very solid team. Good work!

Great, but Close Combat isn't a good option IMO.

Well, for one thing, SR isn't seen as often in UU as it is OU. People who fear SR usually doesn't fear it as much in UU.

Yeah, Plume can take fighting hits very good, but has no place taking it in bulk. If your using it as a cleric, ajust his EV's in a more defensive fashion.

Oh, and Plume does ok in OU, at least the way I use it. Especially with it's wide array of status, they can't switch in without being put to sleep, or paralyzed or something.

And as I always say, give Black Sludge to any poison types that uses Leftovers. Any help against Trick users like Hypno or Rotom is welcome.

Great, but Close Combat isn't a good option IMO.

In future GIVE REASONS when you rate, its in the rules. You cant just say "this is bad" why is it ?

And thats beside the point, Ewww, Close Combat is the best fighting type move.period. =/.

@Sims, i generally always prefer Leftovers on Poison types >> Black Sludge, thing is, if they trick you and kill your poison type later, then they are free to trick Black Sludge back to you, on heaven forbid a wall or something =o.

    Ah, tu'che.

Different opinions on this, seeing how I have two poison tyes, for some reason.

You really need to max out Scyths speed. Otherwise you run the threat of being outsped and the possible Stone Edge for 4x Damage

I like the set up though.

Yeah, but if you know a quad powered stone edge is coming your way you switch dont you? Thats what walls are for, especially when you have a 4x resist to rock :|

Evidentaly you've never been mean looked? Arena Trapped? or any OTHER thing that shoves him in a corner.

Hell some Stone Edges are quite a surprise. It's like encountering a Counter Bliss. Not often run into, but it happens.

Scyther is not affected by Arena Trap =/

Muk, Jynx, Sableye, and Absol are the only UU Mean Look pokemon as well, unless you count Ariados and Spider Web (lol). Most of those are rarely seen with a trapping move and they aren't exactly great at taking Scyther's hits. Even in OUs, Wobbuffet can't take Scyther's attacks all too well ._.

Surprise HP Grasses happened to Swampert in Advance, but you never would EV it in SDef just to take those hits. Preparing for a surprise that probably won't happen is usually pretty silly.

Also, the fastest Stone Edge in UU comes from Hitmonlee, who fails to outspeed Scyther without a Choice Scarf.

To add to what Anti said, even in OU, there are no Mean Lookers who can stop Scyther. If you were trapped, they'd die in an instant.

After seeing everyone's opinions, I know well that this team is nowhere near OU competition. Stick with UU rates, and I apologize for not mentioning that earlier. I mentioned OU because I get bored on occasion, so I throw this in vs. OU teams, but it isn't designed to beat them into the ground.

Okay, so what are some suggestions to physical king? It's my lord of troubles for now, so how can I deal with it? Also, what's the EV spread for a defensive Vileplume?
