This UU Shoddy team has done me a ton of good lately. It has even destroyed some OU teams by holding out against onslaughts for long enough until my sweepers can devastate. It can thrive in the OU metagame, but not very well. Still, I took the honor of adjusting a couple movesets to OU standards.
You can has death now (Scyther) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Aerial Ace
- Brick Break
- Pursuit
- X-Scissor
This thing makes an impressive lead. Technician STAB Aerial Ace nails a ton of things for a lot. Since Rotom won't like getting Night Slashed, it'll switch out...not against this thing. Technician Pursuit deals some good damage. I could put U-Turn over X-Scissor, but it'll be fine for now.
---
I'm BL material! I'LL SHOW YOU! (Steelix) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/120 Atk/138 SDef
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
So Steelix was moved to UU...I took some fun and tried to put it with this team. It was originally a Choice Bander, but I needed a sturdy wall. It phazes and sets up SR, something that this team will appreciate. I'm still considering Gyro Ball over Stone Edge, but I like the flying-type coverage.
---
I see everything upside-down! (Hitmontop) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/72 Def/186 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic
- Stone Edge
Hit a flier, spin away spikes, Hit Tyranitar with Close Combat, you name it. Hitmontop is a nice pokemon and potentially one of the best UUs. However, I wish it had more HP though...
---
Tank this, Glaceon! (Ninetales) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Energy Ball
- Flamethrower
- Nasty Plot
- Hypnosis
Yeah Glaceon, get past this thing without trouble! Ninetales has destroyed my competition time after time after coming in on a Will-O-Wisp, scaring off the threat, and Nasty Plotting. Can't OHKO it? I sleep it. Ninetales' special defense isn't lacking too much, so it'll take a hit in the process if it has to. I went with Leftovers for more survivability, and it works well.
---
the UU Blissey (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP/6 Def/252 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Wish
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Calm Mind
Clefable's versatility is something to be reckoned with, but I just went with a standard CM set this time on a special wall set. I'm considering to drop some special defense for defense, but it works fine now. I have Wish for it to be a team player, but considering Softboiled.
---
I'm Uber, but you don't know it yet. (Vileplume) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP/180 Def/78 S.Def
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Sludge Bomb
- Aromatherapy
- Energy Ball
Cleric and T.Spikes absorber, as well as a fire attractor and cleric. It'll Leech Seed sturdy walls and attacking accordingly. This is the Moderate set with a defensive EV spread, still holding an average 236 sp.atk, so it retains offensive capabilities as well.
Uber props go to sims since he loves Vileplume.
---
One problem this team faces is absorbing a powerful STAB Psychic. Clefable can, but fears Focus Blast...a lot. Fire will dent this team a good bit if Ninetales isn't around to absorb it. Glaceon's sturdiness will hurt this team if Ninetales falls in battle, so I have to be wary of bringing out Ninetales. Mixed Nidoking can hit nearly everything for super effective damage, so it's an issue.
This team somehow retains its sturdiness, and hurts a lot of teams badly. Ninetales is a shining pokemon on this team since it can just sweep any time it comes across.
