    How does IV battling work?

It's where you check your stats and then disconnect.

Plonk the stats into an IV calculator, and calculate the IVs. The EVs must also be taken into account, of course, which is why you should remove all the EVs first if the Pokemon has any, unl;ess you know what they are.

Since everyone has failed to mention it so far, you make it a level 100 battle. That way IVs are clearest and EVs are all in effect.

No, i mean to see how they work. SInce EVs don't appear in any order it can be tricky to see how many are currently affecting your pokemon. At level 100 all boosts from EVs have been brought into affect so that problem doesnt exist.

There's an equation that calculates your stats by finding your stats out of what they will be at Lvl. 100. So Ev's are always in effect, they just have less impact at low levels because they get divided out. You can also use that equation to figure out EV's if your a math nerd like me. The equation can be found on Serebii.
