4th Gen I just started a new game.......

and i need to know what types would be good for story mode. Diff types ect.

So far im almost to the forest (i forgot the name, lol) and i have a lv 21 Prinplup and a lv 21 staravia......Those wont change either way, so keep in mind that I already have a water/steel (once it evolves) and a flying type. Please help me, im a total noob when it comes to this because i get too caught up in the way the pokemon looks, rather than its moves and type, that i end up witt a CUTE yet WEAK team....Thanx for reading

You will want a good variety of pokemon.

You have a water type, and thats good. You will need a grass type (I suggest Budew. It will evolve into a strong Roserade) and a fire type. Since fire types are so rare, you will have to get a ponyta. If you would've picked Chimchar, you'd have no problem.

And Gabite is a pretty strong pokemon. (Ground/Dragon) it will be helpful later in the game.

And Shinx is a decent electric type.

I would suggest getting a fire type (ponyta or growlithe(though i'm not sure you can get it)) even though your choices are few, an electric type (luxray), a legendary (if you want it) and one of your favorite pokemon whose type I have not listed.

That will pretty much take you through the E4.

It's ingame. You can get a Magikarp and kill anything you see. Trust me, you'll be fine.

That was an exaggeration to show that ingame is extremely easy. Just catch a bunch of sweepers and level em up, and viola! You've just beaten the Elite Four.

thanx for the feedback. Nerdy_sneakerz, thanx for the help, but most of the pokemon you mentioned weer basically the same as the rival character..that may or may not be a problem

Or you can od it old school with one level 60 and rest lvl 20 -40 with lots of revives and restores

get a roserade as a grass type pokemon. ;) You said you like green, so its green and its a grass type. lol

Add a ghastly from Old chateu in the forest.
Also add a shinx.
Maybe a Chimchar from GTS.
