Hi guys, I'm new at this, I played Silver, Red and Sapphire heaps but I didn't get -that- into it. In only really found out about EVs etc when I was searching stuff about Diamond, which I now own. I guess because I didn't really know anyone playing Red/Silver/Sapphire so I couldn't be competitive.

Right now I'm just trying to build up a team of easy to get easy to train pokemon so I can rape Battle Tower and get my power and choice items.

This is what I have so far, and yes, they're terrible as hell - but I'm not really trying to get a perfect team until I have all the Power and Choice items as well as some Battle Tower TMs. So yes, you'll see EVs and Natures gone to hell (So cover your eyes if you don't want to see butchered pokemon) but... I don't mind at this stage.

    ------------------------------------------------
Empoleon @ (No clue, maybe Leftovers? I only have one at the moment.. :-( )
EV: Arbitrary Amounts in everything (I played the game through with this guy, and he is male :-( )
    Nature: Impish
    - Stealth Rock
    - Surf
    - Roar
    - Ice Beam
Stats: (For an idea of EVs/IVs or something)
    Level 64 196/142/149/152/152/119

Togekiss @ (Again no clue, maybe Quick Claw? I have a few items not the best ones though)
    Ability: Serene Grace
EV: 100 HP / 100 Speed (Yay drugs) + 3 or so kills near Pal Park when I evolved him as a togepi.. no clue what those were...
    Nature: Brave
    -Roost
    -Aura Sphere
    -Air Slash
-Yawn (No Thunder Wave TM yet)

Stats: (He'll be 50 when I use him in the tower)
    Level 43 147/60/93/117/109/81

And for BT I have no idea what I should use next...
    ------------------------------------------------

I have an Eevee I have not evolved yet, a level 1 Lucario (with Haste on Flinch), a bunch of other pokemon or maybe a F.E.A.R if I can get the Focus Sash from that guy soon xD.

I will not be EV training them, only drugging the stats they need upto 100. (or other multiples of 10).

So anyone got an idea for a filler that is easy to level/get good moves for? Ie, no breed moves, no BT or PBR TMs and Items or other items/skills that will take a long time to get (like leveling to 90 something for Aura Sphere).

Pokemon like Salamance, I cannot get on Diamond without trading for it or a Bagon or something, so I probably can't get these quickly either.

Sorry if this should go into request a team or something, but I'd also like feedback on my existing BT team which I figured should go here. Feel few to move this thread if I figured wrong.

Finally thanks for any help you guys give me! :D

    For those who need it.
    ------------------------------------------------
TL;DR: Rate my existing Single Battle Tower team and Give me a filler please, keeping in mind that I want to spend minimal time and effort on this at the moment. Pokemon Diamond.

Edit2: Maybe a jolteon? Last time I died in the BT from a Pachirisu Spark Paralyzing everything I had (and it paralysed me almost every turn too :-( and beat my team of Empoleon/Uxie/Gengar, though only Empoleon had EVs and noone had items haha).

Well if you're afraid of stats as mentioned in Edit 2 use Heracross.

    Heracross@ choice scarf **CBcross pwns
    252spd/ 252atk/ 6hp
    Adamant
    -Megahorn
    -Close Combat
    -Stone Edge
    -Pursuit/ Night Slash

Well I can't get Choice stuff yet, and I could put 100 into spd and atk, other then that bulbapedia says I get it from Honey Trees which would probably take too long... I just need something quick and easy and I'm not too particular about the pokemon being godly

I just need to be able to wipe through Battle Tower so I can get BP to get Power and Choice items.

Seriously it doesn't take that long to EV train and if you want to beat the Tower Tycoon Hera will kill 2/3 pokemon he has only possibly being stopped by Rhyperiors high def.

Use the GTS if you can there are trading threads here.

Eh, moves like pursuit are no good in the battle tower since they rarely switch...

Choice Band Mence (or life orb if you can't get CB) will sweep a lot of stuff, Milotic can take the strong sweepers on with ease, and the likes of Empoleon or Togekiss can be a Special attacker.

That's a pretty basic format that works fairly well.

Sounds good, I just have to find a trade for Bagon or something that isn't ridiculous, or perhaps I'll just pick up Milotic then.

Is there anything that I should change on Togekiss/Empoleon that I can readily change?

Edit: Like what items should I use?

    Empoleon@Petaya Berry
    Timid
    252 spd, 252 Sp. Atk, 6 HP

    Surf
    Ice Beam
    HP Ground / Substitute
    Agility

(My adaption of an agility Sweeper. Pass a Substitute from a pokemon like Vaporeon (128 Subs at 31 HP IV's), then Agility. As your HP lowers, Petaya activates, as well as Torrent.)

EDIT: Jolteon would be a good Baton Passer also, as you were looking at him for use. (Vappy is OU btw)

Do you still have Sapphire about?

Pick up a Staryu and pass it over. A decent Starmie is probably the best possible lead for most of the Battle Tower, something like:

    Starmie, Modest/Timid
    Natural Cure
    Expert Belt
EVs in Special Attack and Speed, if you can't be bothered EV training also boost Defence, Special Defence and HP.
    Surf
    Psychic
    Thunderbolt
    Ice Beam

(latter three TMs all available from the Veilstone Game Corner)

Hits virtually everything hard with boosted SE attacks and laughs off status attacks too. This guy will also defeat the first Tower Tycoon by himself.

edit: a bad addition to your team admittedly, though, as he's a third elec weak - but every BT team needs a Starmie. You might be better off with a Garchomp (adamant/jolly, Life Orb, earthquake, dragon claw, fire fang (you'll need a heart scale for this), swords dance). Nothing you need to level for above 50 either.

Okay, I recently had luck in trading a freakin' Flaaffy for a Metagross with Pokerus! So I've totally revamped my old team.

    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Freya The Lopunny @Iron Ball
    Nature: Jolly
    Ability: Klutz
    EVs: 160 Hp /96 Atk / 252 Spe
    - Return
    - Fling
    - Baton Pass
    - Agility

Agipass to Metagross or Gardevoir as well as decent damage potential. Though I'm worried that if Lopunny dies then my Metagross will be useless, especially if I have to do some switching.

    Abyssion The Metagross @Life Orb
    Nature: Jolly
    EVs: 152 HP / 252 Atk / 104 Spe
    - Meteor Mash
    - Earthquake
    - Bullet Punch
    - Explosion

If Jolly becomes a problem I guess I could go hatch another thousand Beldums to get Adamant.

I'm not sure Bullet Punch will cut it by itself without the Agipass, so maybe I should get Agi on Metagross anyway?

Also, explosion because I can't get ThunderPunch.

    Yuki The Gardevoir @Leftovers
    Nature: Timid
    Ability: Trace
    EVs: 56 HP / 252 SpA / 200 Spe
    - Calm Mind
    - Psychic
    - Thunderbolt
    - Wish

    I can switch Thunderbolt with
Shadow Ball once I start raping BT.

And if not having Will-O-Wisp is a problem then I guess I can breed it in once I have enough BP to get the TM.

    ----------------------------------------------------------

I need suggestions on the team, will it be okay? I'm playing on PBR against Friend passes with full Ubers and it doesn't go so well.... is that normal? xD

Lopunny is useless, the best it can do is the elemental punches, but way more pokemon do it better.

A good choice for a pokemon is DDTar, that is a Tyranitar that knows Dragon Dance (requires breeding but worth it)

    Tyranitar@Leftovers/Life Orb
    Adament Nature
EVs: 112 HP, 252 Atk, 40 Sp Def, 106 Spd
    -Dragon Dance
    -Crunch/Outrage
    -Stone Edge
    -Earthquake

Outrage is a possibility, as hardly anything can take a DD Outrage and live, although a STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) Outrage would be much better (Garchomp, DD Dragonite)

    ------
If you really want Agility passing

    Jolteon@Leftovers
    Timid Nature
EVs: 252 Spd, 252 Sp Atk, 6 HP
    -Thunderbolt
    -Hidden Power Ice
    -Agility
    -Baton Pass

Can also be used to pass Substitutes or another Wish pokemon, so you can Specs Gardevoir

I rate cursepert in any battle tower team, and even more so in yours. Thats not meant to be offensive by the way, you've got 2 great pokes picked out. But both are suing special attacks, and both are weak against electric. Good old swampy remedies both :)

You need some ice on that team. You have zero attacks that are SE against dragons, and that's a problem. Switch out Garde for a boltbeamer that can benefit from agilipass and you'll be fine (maybe a PorygonZ or something?).

The Jolteon agilipass set Diablo gave is good as well, and gets you your ice attack. He also carries Thunderbolt, so you could trade Thunderbolt on Garde for something else (Energy Ball for Rhyperior maybe?)

Mmm well I want to keep Gardevoir as it's my favourite pokemon (I know, taking pokemon I like over pokemon that are good, crazy isn't it?).

I was thinking about picking up a porygon when it finally appears in the garden.

I'd like each pokemon to be able to hold it's own, this is why my Lopunny sucks, I noticed even with it's HP EVs it died way to quickly and does nearly nothing but agipass and that's if it's lucky and doesn't die. Even the Iron Ball Fling against weak pokemon doesn't do any damage.

I have a Ice Punch Weavile that I could use...

    He is Jolly and
40hp, 110 Attack 216 speed (training attack right now).

No pursuit, I got an expert belt on him.

Is there are team of pokemon that don't look retarded (like Blissey etc.) that can support Gardevoir well in BT.

From a previous question you asked yes it is normal to lose to teams of ubers because even if a noob is behind it they do stupid things alot so you never know what they'll hit you with. Seriously I sent out a Gengar once she sent out a Mewtwo I switched to Starmie to not get murdered by Psychic and she used Hyper beam. =/

Hmm.. Well I'm playing against the computer with a Friend Pass full of EVed Ubers.

This is how this battle went.

    I send out Metagross
    He sent out Giratina
    Metagross uses Agility
Giratina uses Earth Power (Maybe I should have switched out)
Metagross loses a bit over 50%
Metagross uses Pursuit (Still have not fixed up my moves yet, but I guess this was okay since Giratina was weak to it)
    Giratina loses 70% or so.
    Giratina uses Shadow Force
    Metagross uses Pursuit, miss.
    Giratina attacks with Shadow Force
    Metagross dies.

I send out Weavile (Same as the Smogon Sword Dance Weavile, though without Brick Break and with Icy Wind instead. No Brick break because I have no BP)

    Weavile uses Sword Dance
    Giratina uses Shadow Bolt
    Weavile loses like 10% hp
    Weavile uses Ice Punch
    Giratina dies.

    Heatran is sent out.
    Weavile uses Night Slash
    Heatran loses like 35% hp.
Heatran uses Lava Plume (Now that I think about it, I really should have switched to Gardevoir here...)
    Weavile dies.

I sent out Gardevoir - Copies flash fire.
    Gardevoir uses Wish
Heatran uses Iron Head. Does 40% damage.
    Gardevoir heals from leftovers.
    Gardevoir uses Calm Mind
Heatran uses Iron Head, does 40% damage.
    Gardevoir Heals from Wish
    Gardevoir Heals from Leftovers
    Gardevoir uses Wish
Heatran uses Iron Head, Does 40% damage.
    Gardevoir uses Psychic
    Heatran loses 40% or so
    Heatran uses Lava Plume.
    Gardevoir's Flash Fire activates.
Gardevoir uses Psychic and Heatran dies.
    Wish and Leftovers heal Gardevoir.

    Enemy sends out Zapdos.
    Gardevoir uses Wish
    Zapdos uses Thunder, Miss.
Gardevoir heals with leftovers (100% now)
    Gardevoir uses Calm Mind
    Zapdos uses Thunder, Crit.
    Gardevoir dies...

I know I made a bunch of mistakes where I should have switched. But it seems I lose lots just thanks to lucky crits/1-hit-KO or something like that.

Weavile needs brick break and you can find it in the Oreburgh Gate along with Focus Punch.
I don't like sword dance weaviles. They are to open to an attack and weaviles are quite fragile so they tend to die. If you want, give weavile a life orb and switch out when you see a fighting pokemon or a pokemon that can learn fighting moves.

Ahh seriously? The guide I had said I could only get it from BP. I'll go teach it to him right away. But... I do have Focus Punch.. maybe I did miss Brick Break.. I hope I didn't teach it to one of my pokemon already.

Also, it's been since Silver since I played so I'm really bad at telling which pokemon can learn what moves.... just a few games ago I was killed and I was like "lolwhut, that pokemon can learn that?".

I want a Gardevoir and Weavile is cool, but now I need something to fill Metagross's spot. He is awesome and all, but with this team I have a double fire weakness.

    How about a Dusknoir?

    Dusknoir @ Leftovers
    Careful / Impish
    252 Hp / 120 Def / 138 SDef ?
    -Fire Punch
    -Shadow Sneak
    -Pain Split
    -Will-O-Wisp

It can cause burn (very usefull), it can block fighting attacks that will OHKO weavile.
