I need a pokemon to apply defense and special defense other than Umbreon

:)) Those were options, just choose two of them. Standard doesn't always work the best. Any of those moves might work, to a lesser extent. Double status, Pain Split (the usual choice), Mean look can be a surprise. And so on.

PS: lol, I don't think I know which is the standard, isn't it the FP one?

Standard does work the best in most cases that is why people use it. Standard is:

Dusclops (F) @ Leftovers ** Cyclops
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Atk / 176 Def / 24 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Pain Split
- Seismic Toss
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp

It might be old but I think the EVs are still standard.

I prefer my dusclops to be named one-eye

anyway, what does pain split actually do???

Because its description is vague

Well I do believe that it takes the HP of the user, the HP of the opponent, adds them together then giving half to each pokemon. If you're low on health and have a big fat Blissey in your face, Pain Splitting will fully heal you most of the times, while cutting her HP down big time. Only use when you're low on HP though, as it can hurt you too if your opponent's HP is lower than yours.

Okay so you add the max HP of both pokemon then split them half...

say I have Dusclops and Blissey

Its max HP is 286 and blisseys is 714. So it adds them both together. I have 1000. So 500 HP a peice to both pokemon. Okay I get it

Hariyama can be a pretty good tank with Rest/SleepTalk
or Metagross could be a good enough tank, it also carries handy resists

No, it takes the current amount of HP. The max HP of either pokemon won't increase or decrease at all. In your situation, Blissey will have 500 HP, but Dusclops will still have only 286 HP. but say Dusclops has 1 HP left, and Blissey has 499 left, after pain split, both of them will have 250. But that doesn't mean that Blissey can't use Softboiled and increase it's HP back to normal.

Overall, it works with the current HP, not the max, and it doesn't change the Base HP of the pokemon. Anyway, you get the point.

PS: Oh, yeah, you can get Duskull on Mt. Pyre.

The problem with Dusclops is that it can only obtain Pain Split by breeding with Misdreavus, which is only found in LeafGreen. And enyce said that he can't trade.

I mean, Rest is always an option, but I prefer a way to get Pain Split since it is quite awesome.

Yeah, that's true, but the info on Pain Split is useful anyway, and ingame, CMClops works great, with Rest. Btw, I for one think it's rather unfair that only one pokemon in all the games gets Pain Split in any way other than breeding...IMO that should be fixed in later games, or at least make Misdreavus obtainable in more of the games. Oh well, it is a powerful move, and I guess it's supposed to be rare, but still...

I cant trade at the moment but I have a Misdereavous on here...I just cant find stupid duskull.

But its a female, that means I cant breed pain split on to dusclops right??

Dusclops needs to be female and Misdreavus needs to be male. If you need a male Misdreavus, you can get more by breeding.

Whoa! Enyce, you're going to have to work long and hard at breeding to get what you want. I think its worth it though, because you should do anything for good movesets.

I'm ditto. Pain Split is Dusclops's best move IMO.

You have to, of course, max out its HP though. Its low HP psuedo drops its defenses.
