Video games can take us to a lot of real life locations... from stunning tropical beaches, to beautiful city streets and everywhere in between.
That also comes with a down side as some games tend to follow other's in their location so you can end up with a whole bunch of games in the same place, which makes it stale.
As this thread started as "Most hated locations" that will be the first question. But also what are some of your favorites.
Anything at least based on and set in reality or a real location is eligible. So that means if your choice is a fictional African nation, that's ok, but say... Hoenn, is not.
-------
I have to say my most hated is easily New York City. I swear it doesnt matter what county the Dev is from, they all seem to come to the same conclusion. "OH LETS DO NEW YORK ITS SO ICONIC TO MODERN LIFE!!!1!" I'm sick of the same streets and the same brick buildings. I NEED ROOM TO RANGE DAMN IT! It gets slightly better with what I call remixes of New York, crysis 3 for example turned it into an overgrown Jungle which was pretty cool (though New York was still there)
My favorites have to be Italy for its lush Mediterranean climates, cliffs, and normally a lot of water. Less specifically I also love any tropical island, with a particular love for the fictional Ling Shan islands from Crysis!
