Umm...maybe you should be a more specific of your problem, so the people here know a lot about team construction and battling strategies (I know only RBYGSC things :P) as well as the beauty contests can help you with your problem. If you don't know the problem, you can't fix it ;)
Thing is, if you are talking about battling strategies, I was in the bottom with the same thing as you are now. I didn't know a thing about team building, yet I started trying different things and I begun to learn a lot, although I never was too good. But I can give you one advice: You need to make the team yourself, no one can make a team for you, because you would then know how the team works in differnet situations. I could put down a lot of examples straight from GSBot's history, but there are too many of them. Remember, practice makes perfect ;)

easy, build around your favorite pokemon. winning is meaningless when you're using a bunch of OU's with movesets that ppl made up which are practically set in stone. just pick your favorite pokemon, get some experience, and you'll eventually pick up a couple strategies. when you get good you can start to create your own strategies and movesets, it all starts with experience.
i was a big pokemon anime fan, and a huge fan of the kanto starters, so i just tried building around them. people call me noob and stuff, and that kanto starters are overshadowed by other OU's but i didn't care. now i've created a practically invincible ash team with pikachu, venasaur, charizard, blastoise, heracross, and snorlax. also just come visit the forum lots and ask for help. there are some excellent net battlers here who are willing to help you with your team.

lol, I had this problem recently I had a team which worked well, but, I completely hated it and it made winning suck :( .
I made a new team with OU pokemon that I actually liked and it works fine. Minus the salamence who I'm looking to replace.
