I need some tips

okay so I pretty much rushed through SS and now I am at the E4 and my team can't cut it so I am asking for advice on possible replacements and training spots

For your sixth Get an annoyer. Something that parahax or confusehax. Just stock up on items and Grind your team to 55. Trust me Lance's team fails when It's crippled. Good luck

Typhlosion has too many Fire moves. There's not a lot of variety and it can't counter other types except those it's strong against.


A better moveset for Typhlosion:

• Flamethrower/Lava Plume
• Focus Blast (TM)
• Swift
• Thunderpunch (Battle Frontier Move Tutor)

You can't access Thunderpunch untill after the E4, but this is a much better Typhlosion. Thunderpunch is super-effective against Water and Focus Blast super-effective against Rock, two of Typhlosion's major weaknesses.


Gyarados' moveset also isn't that great. Here's a better one:

• Bite/Earthquake
• Waterfall/Aqua Tail
• Dragon Dance
• Ice Fang

Gyarados' Atk is higher than its Sp Atk, so physical (contact) moves work better. Earthquake is good here because it counters Electric types, which is Gyarados' major weakness.

Get the rest of your team up to at least Typhlosion's level. That alone will be a major help. I also suggest using the move deleter/re-learner in Blackthorn City to replace your HM moves. Cut has no business being anywhere on a decent team. Neither does Whirlpool. Use HM slaves instead. This frees up spaces for better moves on your main team.

As for finding a Dusk Stone, maybe trade one over from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum?
