hey. i and someone i know run a vB lite forum (wont post a link as its a forum). may i ask that someone makes me a register/login script? thats all i ask. ill try to do the rest.

Just download a different type of forum software, or live with the vBLite user-less features.

You aren't even supposed to have it, AFAIK. vBulletin would have a cow I'd bet. Do you care to get sued?

Not to mention by doing that, you would be breaking some sort of copyright issue.

WhAT!? lots of sites use vB lite. if they ask. ill take it down. not a big deal.
i know of about 100 sites that use it. i wont post links tho. and vB lite hacks are legal.

I see that as distributing (you did put it up for download) the code is a no-no. Therefore, I technically shouldn't have the code to work off of, therefore not able to make a hack for it. -.-;

Besides, making it a registered thing would change basically the core code of the forum, which wouldn't really even make it vBLite anymore...

But still, the point remains that if you make it registered, it really isn't vBLite anymore. Then it's turned more into another type of forum with a vBLite skin. =/

Ooo, now you are getting into copyright issues. phpBB code is for phpBB, and not for anything else. If you really want to make vBLite a user-run thing, then you have to go into the code yourself and find what needs to be changed, and let me tell you, it'll be a lot.

Seems like a complete waste to me... just use phpBB or BB or whatever... or just use a vBLite and deal with all the guests...

It is open source, but it's stealing coding if you use it for something else. You are welcome to modify the phpBB code, but you can't use it for anything else.
