Do you find that?
For example, when I still played Pokémon Battle Revolution a lot of people had Darkrai on random wifi which was really frustrating. Even when I countered it I still got annoyed because many of them rage quitted. (If they don't want to be subject to my Honchrow Mirror Move and Alakazam's Skill Swap then they shouldn't be playing so predictably). My Primape with Vital Spirit ability also go on their nerves. In fact, Darkrai was common that I included at least one counter to it on every 4th generation team I made.
In Pokémon Black and White it's a similar story. I have recently updated my newest team (Bisharp was replaced with Bouffalant). Bouffalant was put on the team as not just a Whimsicott counter (since the team is a Trick Room team and I can Taunt it before they can use Encore on Trick Room) but also as an Amoongus counter.
People keep trying to use Spore on it and when they realize I've turned their chepaness against them they always seem to rage quit in the end. This other guy helped my Bouffalant get up to +6 ATK because after Spore failed he tried to use Power Whip on it with Ferrothorn which then Exploded, and when it survived that too he disconnected.
Just the other day I faced someone who took 10 minutes to choose their move (twice in the final turns of the battle) hoping I'd disconnect before they loose.
So basically, normally, if I loose it's to someone who is very desperate to win, but if I win half the time it's against someone who can't stand loosing because they can't accept that the best Pokémon statistically can loose/be countered or because they someone with an in-game team who (presumably) has a tantrum. Something like half the people with a high ranking aren't all that good because they keep rage quitting so their loses aren't counted...
I could show you battles from both cases (in PBR I used a DVD recorder to record so rage quitters could still be recorded) but I don't feel it would be appropriate to promote my YouTube channel in this post. However, a link to it is in my signature if you want to look for those battles.
