Hey there, people! I don't know if i'm in the right thread for this, but it's still game development. Everyone knows, a Pokémon game needs tiles. I just got a problem with making these.
I got a new Dell Laptop with Windows 7 on it and usually use Paint for making my tiles. The problem is, the new paint is SO EXTREMELY COMPLICATED I don't know what I should do. I once saw this modified-for-Windows 7 version of MS Paint XP, and wondered if such a thing also exists for Vista's Paint?
Please comment, I really need help.

PS. If this thread is in the wrong place, please move it.

    That's Paint.NET. I told that didn't work with me.

Thanks, unfortunately, this method doesn't work for me either.

I get what you're on about. You don't want a complicated graphics program; you just want a canvas and pixel painting. Transparency can be handled elsewhere (I use Paint.NET for transparency only, and Paint for the actual drawing).

I know what you mean about wanting the old Paint. The new Windows Paint has a different default palette and all kinds of brushes. I much prefer using the few pixelly brushes in the old Paint (I used XP before upgrading to 7) to having a bunch of other brushes (ink, crayon, etc.) and shapes that I'll never use. Also, the new eraser sometimes doesn't erase a pixel if just the edge of it goes over it, which is annoying.

Still, I like the increased number of Undo steps now, and the resize/flip options are right there for easy access. And I think it's easier now to define and custom colours, particularly as they no longer replace the default palette.

I'm afraid I don't know about getting the Vista Paint into 7. You mentioned seeing a modified version of Paint XP - where can I find it?

I know that you sorted this out, so I'm closing this thread since you shouldn't of started a thread on this ha.

For those wondering, I helped him get XP version of paint (which is like vista paint)- works fine as a portable .exe (meaning no install).
