i wanna trade but i cant get connected on the wifi. i almost lost internet completely trying to hook it up. slap me if i put this in the wrong thread but idk where to put it...anyways apperantly my sercurty on my router is WPA2 or whatever and i think the DS only takes WEP sercuity. Is this true or am i screwed? please help if you r good with wireless connection setup. and yes i went to the website checked tech support it didnt help. I am in need!

ya i did that but then i lost all internet on the computers because the computers have to be set with the exsact same sercuity settings and the CPUs r set on the WPA2..so i guess i eather have internet on the computers or wifi on the DS...thats my conclusion

You said you went to the website, but just in case you didn't, here's the link to Nintendo's troubleshooting page:

    https://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/wrInitialSetupHelp.jsp

I've actually used their directions in the past to fix and alter my wireless router to get it to work with my DS. Your issue is actually answered in their FAQ, here:

My security settings are not supported or are not compatible
If your network name (SSID) is displayed on the Nintendo DS with a gray locked icon (pictured below), then your router is set up with security that is not supported by the Nintendo WFC. Playing multiplayer over the Nintendo WFC is only compatible with the WEP security setting, even when playing with a Nintendo DSi. WPA and other security settings are not compatible.

    Solution:

You will need to either change your security settings on your router to "WEP" (recommended), or disable all security. For information on changing the security settings of your router, click here.

If you know how to alter your wireless router's settings, see if you're able to change the security preferences to WEP if it's able to do so. Otherwise, you'll need to disable all security preferences.

If it's not your router, and it's a family members or a parents, ask them for help on this. Otherwise, if it's yours and you have free reign on the router, check it's security settings and see if you can set it to WEP.

If you're able to mess with it, tell us your router's type and model number, and we can probably assist you, or tell you if your router even has WEP support.
