I want it so much, omg ;__;

If I can afford it by myself, I'll normally end up buying it by myself. If it's out of my price-range and something like a birthday or Christmas is coming up, then I don't really see much of a harm in asking for something. I'm horrible to buy for anyway, so people are normally relieved that I'd actually like something of material value over, say, money. If it's out of my price-range and there's nothing significant coming up, then I'll probably save up and buy it eventually.
 
I can give the morally correct answer, and say that I would like to work hard for it, but that would be a lie. I wouldn't care how I got it, as long as I got it.
