I never care too much about what media I watch but I have always preferred to watch animated stuff over shows that were filmed.

This kinda started to change when my older brother showed me a show he used to watch when was my age called "Strange Days at Blake Holsey High". I watched that show and loved it, so I started watching more things based on recommendations, with the latest one being "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide".

The immediate obvious thing is that I like it when characters are around my age (I am 13 so characters who are supposed to be around that age is good, giving or taking a few years). I also really like school settings (bonus points if it is a boarding school!). It's better if there's the fantasy element like there is Strange Days at Blake Holsey High, but I think asking for TV shows where people are my age is demanding enough hahaha.

Is there any show like this any could recommend?

PS: Really sorry for asking a recommendation. I didn't see a general thread for this and I also didn't see it in the rules so I am not sure if this is allowed.

Have you seen Boy Meets World? I believe the main characters are around middle school age when the show first starts, but it's like 7 seasons long so it follows them all throughout highschool and even college as the actors grow. I really loved it when I was your age (saying that makes me feel old haha) but I feel like it's a show that's still good, like I could watch it today and still enjoy it, which I think is rare for these coming of age, family-friendly shows that are usually pretty cheesy when you watch them as adults.

Never hear of Degrassi? Some subjects can be harsh sometimes but it's the point to show the problems of the teenagers today. The show is actually like 30 years old, the characters changing after they are graduate, and then you see a new bunch of kids.

I love the first seasons of Degrassi next generation as they were my age and I could relate with them. If you are 13, you are in the Degrassi Next Class. Those kids are maybe 15, 16 years old? A bit older than you but I think you might relate on some stuff? It might depend from where you live too. You can always read on the show, looks at some resumes and try to watch it if you want.

Girl Meets World is a continuation of this show. It might be something to interest you. There's also Bunk'd as well, but I'm not sure their ages. I also agree on Degrassi as well. I used to really like this show, and I still do but haven't had a chance to really watch it lol oops. Oh, and I'm pretty sure you'd really enjoy House of Anubis. It's got a lot of fantasy, and it's also based in a boarding school Now where are my brownie points. XD

It doesn't have a supernatural element but Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide is a great show and definitely worth a watch. They're in middle school throughout the show so they're in your age range.

I also cannot promise it'll be good since it came out in the late 90s and it has been so long since I've actually seen it, but you could try looking up a show called So Weird. It's about a girl around your age solving weird cases about ghosts, UFOs, etc.

    Hope you find some stuff!

Yup! I recently finished watching Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide and it was really fun ^-^. I will check out So Weird since I find paranormal stuff interesting without really believing in it. Thank you!

Oh my f*cking gods, I remember Ned's from forever ago! It sucked that the plans for a high-school sequel never came through.

Also, Steven Universe is thirteen, though he doesn't look like it. King of the Hill might count, if the episode focuses on the kids. Workaholics might, if you're okay with their super-adult humor (they're all just overgrown teens). If we're going retro: My Life as a Teenage Robot. If all else fails... anime.
