There should be a pokemon game in 3D for playstation 3, Xbox 360, and wii It should take place in a region based on Africa, Australia, and the South American tropics, every pokemon in one way or another should be available in the wild at some point (of course pokemon like metagross and dragonite would be in some place like Mt. silver and things like the starters would be rare) there should be dive spots that lead to an underground underwater land of the lost with ancient pokemon catchable and groudon and Kyogre, and other parts of the region only accessable by diving, and of course the region should be supersized. Perhaps you can instead of picking a starter you can take a personality test for a starter. What do you think about my idea?

I think that Pokemon will very likely never move off the Nintendo console. After all, it is one of the best selling franchises for Nintendo - why would they allow the other consoles to make use of it?

That and super-giant regions run the risk of taking too much space memory wise and as Pokemon games only really have one new region per game (GSC/HGSS having Johto and Kanto the latter not being new), it's possibly not too likely, and could run the risk of overlevelling (byt he time you hit another continent you might have your Pokemon hit level 100...what then?)

Well i don't think the countries should be included but its not a bad idea for different consoles. (I know people who buy a ds just so that they can play pokemon)

I agree, Pokemon will never bounce off the Nintendo consoles, and I also doubt they'd make a game like that for the Wii. Pokemon is just something that...was made for being handheld.

Also, I'll leave this thread open, as long as it doesn't become a spam pit like the similar thread in Video Gaming a few months ago.

I am saying that they should make a region based off of the continents and not actually have you playing in the continents I am talking about one major region not three. And whats wrong with a more tropical pokemon region? And yeah I know nintendo isn't going to put their games on other consoles but they should they would make more money because more people would be willing to buy the game if its on Xbox or PS3, because frankly Wii sucks.

    @Whats in bold: Uh, Hoenn?

A more Gobal style Pokemon game would be neat yeah. I've kinda always wanted them to make a game for there current console (So Wii) That allowed you to go to all current regions introduced in the Pokemon world along with maybe one new one of its own. Or hell I've been dreaming for a MMORPG, but these things wouldn't be that easy to created and the MMORPG being something Nintendo/Pokemon Company have stated they have no intentions of ever making.

And I'm going to have to disagree with you on the whole Nintendo should let there games be multi platfrom'd. I think they'd actually lose out on money rather then make any. Someone in this thread stated they know people who have boughten themselbves DS just for the sake to play Pokemon. Buying a game system along with games? Thats alot more money then just people buying the games. Nintendo exclusive titles are insentive for people to buy their systems and Nintendo is a very, very greedy company. They may claim there goals are to bring people/family's together, but its not. They have been and always will be about the money.
Not that I'm trying to hate on them, Nintendo is the gaming systems I grew up on. I'm a Nintendo fan/supporter, but I can see and admit to their short comings.

And lastly "because frankly Wii sucks." Purely your personally opinion and I get the feeling a bias one at that. Not really reason enough to think there games should be on other consoles. They'd be the same as they are now on a Nintendo system.

anyways, thats just my thoughts on the matter. I know they probably won't be changing your mind on the matter and thats alright. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion

I wouldn't mind seeing more regions in one game, or even longer gameplay, as much as I love each game, I would like more out of it then what they put in.

Nintendo would only 'make money' if they sell the rights for a very large amount of money because it'd only work out for all interested parties if Sony/Microsoft get the profits from games sold on their consoles. And I doubt they would be willing to pay more than the games would be worth, and furthermore games available on all three major consoles means less sales of Nintendo consoles as a result - why go to Nintendo for a few games that you before couldn't play on anything else when it's now on other consoles too?

Also Wii might suck for you, but sales speak bigger than individual opinions, and the Wii has been the best selling home console by far this generation. =p

Game Freak are primarily handheld developers, and creating a full-scale (If not even bigger) Pokémon game on a home console would require more than what developers like Genius Sonority can offer. You'd have to sink a massive amount of money into creating a team and the development of such a game with the hopes that it would pay off.

Also it is never in any company's best interests to licence any of their signature franchises to competing console manufacturers.

    Really? Yay go Wii <3

I would love to see a Pokemon game on the Wii where it would be just like Colosseum etc, only you can travel the region just like on DS, only the sprites are those off Colosseum or something. That would be fun XD

Nintendo is the best hand-held company. It just wouldnt be right if pokemon were on a different console. Elghk, I cant imagine playing pokemon on the PS3. Yes the graphics will be nice, but it wont have the same effect on me as playing it on a handheld.

When I was a kid, it was the dream to have a mainstream Pokemon game on one of the non-handheld consoles, because they can support more graphics and gameplay and it would have just been the most awesome experience of my life. Of course, back then, the console I had in mind was Nintendo 64, which in hindsight wouldn't have been great.

Now, though, I'm happy with the handheld versions, and I think the 3DS will be more than sufficient to carry forth new games.
