I have an idea, Lets all pitch in and make request threads for banners and signatures for supporters only! This might get some attention on the supporters and help bolster donations. I'm sure we have a few talented people who are good at images and signature design.

Also, we could offer different content. I'm sure if we offered different links and guides to things that people might actually want to see this place. Lets all 'put our heads together' and see if we can build up a decent amount of user submitted content to see if we can get people interested in here.

Nevermind, I'm misunderstood the idea and could find the delete button (so, smart >>).

People can already request banners and avatars in the graphics forum for free so I do not see why they would donate to get them.

    orly?

my request (one personal, one official) has been sitting there for months with only one or two comments / replies on it..

why not offer your supporters an enhanced, priority service? sounds pretty good to me.

No, Haine is right. You can call it "exclusive" all you want, but members get the same service in the G&P forum when they request in open graphics shops.

And Steve, graphic artists only take work they want to do. Whether or not your requests were fulfilled isn't very relevant to whether or not this is a good idea.

well now.. at least someone is suggesting ideas.. ya know?

I think it would be neat to have a banner for your sig that has pc supporter, but we already have one of those under out user name, so its almost pointless, but if you make one, i'd put it in my sig.

he means supporters should be able to get first privileges on getting their banners and avatars made before normal members get theirs

oh, well i got nothing, but will let you know if i do, oh we could lie and say that being a member gives you faster page loads.

    Well put.

You guys may think it's a bit silly now, but I see it as a distinct possibility later on when the tier 3+ Donator group is bigger.
While it is true that the graphic artists DO choose what jobs they take on, this forum would make a great place for them to set up shop if they don't feel like taking on a ton of requests.
This would help enhance the quality of the work, because the artists who can, and decide to set up shop here would have less people to worry about satisfying or requesting. And if a very talented artist were to contribute his/her time to a VIP only shop, Well I think it would get a lot of people's attention. (maybe not like it used to, because good banners are getting more common, but the demand is still there and I see a perfect chance to use that to our advantage)

I agree. at the moment there seems to be a lacking of willingness for people to create banners and sigs for people who they hardly know, and quite rightly, but like Raidramon said, a donator only sig request would definetely stir a little more interest. If we can get some artists to say "okay, I'll support my forum" and give thier skills to a member only sig request thread at least thats another thing to put on the "why be a donator" list, right?

8| Well, I think the thing is, with most graphic artists it takes a while to produce something worthwhile. If they can do that for "just anybody" then why restrict it to just supporters when they could get more popularity/requests from it by doing it for absolutely anyone. I don't know if you'd find anyone who'd agree to it.

I expected someone to play the 'Glory' Card >_>

A good artist wouldnt neccessarily have to give up having a public request shop. I never said that. I merely suggested that some of them set up a priority shop here where they may offer a better template, or a priority over regular requests. And we all know how many good artists we lose to the 'Burn out effect' They get so tired of requests or whatnot and they may not have the time to fill the volume of orders a public shop is likely to get if they're good. Not everyone has time to serve the masses, and yet they may still want to make banners, dont ask me why but some people are like that, it feels good to make things.

I totally think we should try it before condemning it as a bad idea. It's not particularly hard to implement and we could open these shops to tiers 1 and 2 as well so that artists who want to set up shop there dont have to buy in so high to do so. I mean seriously, there are some of us donators who wouldnt hesitate to do more for the community.

Yeah, I don't see anyone giving up the chance to advertise and make various projects, to convince more members to join, that member will just become ignored by the other members.

Even if they had a priority shop here, it would most likely make them look lazy, as they will appear to be neglecting the othere members that connot see the thread in here.

Either way, it is going to be difficult to carry this out without some downside for the Artist.
