4th Gen If you could change a city...?

In Sinnoh, if you could alter one of the cities/towns (or more, whatever's your preference) or expand upon its in-game design, how would you do so?

For example, my favorite city of Canalave is said to have an exotic feel to it, yet by the way it's designed I'm really only feeling "port town" when I go there. That makes sense, of course, since Canalave was once a thriving port city...

On the other hand, it feels to me like it lacks the exotic flare it's supposed to have. So, I've been thinking, "What if Canalave looked more like Venice, Italy?" Both are on the water, both have to do with ports, Venice is very rich with history, it probably comes of as exotic to those of us who've never seen it in person... so what elements would I take up to use?

    E.g.,
•More canals splitting the city up into parts
•A few more houses with a more foreign appearance to them
•Statues of Pokemon (not copying Eterna; they don't have to be the Gods of the myths)
•A market place, akin to Slateport? An actual carnival would be neat, but maybe that's just me takin' too much from Venice for inspiration.
•Keep the library; it's one of the good points of the city already

Just things like that. Of course, I know that maybe all of this couldn't be implimented into a game and it's far to late to alter DPPt, but these are just the muses of a bored mind who's set to... think. Anyway, I'd be tempted to make Canalave look more like Venice. They wouldn't have to be identical, but just grab pieces from Venice and use it as inspiration for Canalave.

So, is there anyone else out there who muses on these things and speculates how a city could look a little different/have it's current design expanded?

I want you to go to nintendo, and redesign Canalave, then offer the new design as a wi-fi gift to us all.

    For me, Sunnyshore:

    -Make the lighthouse bigger
-Have the gym have an opening on the back, so you battle Volkner on the beach
-Make the market expand once weekly (i.e. like a Saturday market) offering rare things like Luxury,Nest,Dive Balls, Evolution stones, etc. (like Slateport, lol).
-No Pokemon Mart!!!(hence the market idea)
-Beach hut pokemon center and houses
-Umm...yeah, i'd have made it like Summerland in Pokemon Ranger, not like it is now, all rocky.Although the lighthouse'd have to still be up there, and pokemon rock would still be there (wouldn't it be cool if there was a way of turning it into a giant Snorlax with a special move??something to do with Arceus would be cool).

In every game, all the starting towns, give them more houses and some animations. It feel like those places have a like 5 people living there.

Can you get me a plane ticket to get there? *shot*

Ooh, I like the sound of this. Although that would break away severely from all the games (having the big gym fights in the gym building itself), that'd still be a neat idea. *muses* Maybe there could be an on-the-beach battle on certain days just to fight against trainers, too?

But then where would you get your needed items on the six other days when the market isn't expanded? ... Unless the market is varied up in Platinum, which I wouldn't be aware of 'cause I only own Diamond. I thought it was just for seals...

-Beach hut pokemon center and houses
XD This makes me think of all those open beach bars with the tiki lamps around them, although you probably mean something like the beach hut at Slateport, yes?

D: I don't know what Summerland looks like, but... lots of sand? All sand? IT'S ON AN ISLAND? (Actually that'd be neat... like Dewford!) And that would be really awesome if Pokemon Rock would be able to turn into Snorlax, but then... would it be regenerated and never turn back again? Like a one-time thing? ... Can Snorlax even swim? That is in the ocean surrounded by cliffs...

XD All the towns kind of have that feeling, although I agree. Add in one more house or something, 'cause there's always a bunch of NPCs outside who obviously don't live in your and your rival's homes! Did they all come from the neighboring towns to visit...? That still doesn't explain the NPC popluation that is supposedly homeless. Hm...

    Don't mind me, I'm just thinking outloud. xD;

    Sorry, i've got no money

Yeah, like if the Battleground out of Platinum (where you rematch against gym leaders) was out on a beach island like where they meet up before the big fight in the end of Pirates of the Caribbean 3 (if you've seen that film)

But then where would you get your needed items on the six other days when the market isn't expanded? ... Unless the market is varied up in Platinum, which I wouldn't be aware of 'cause I only own Diamond. I thought it was just for seals...

No, it isn't, obviously if my idea was there, you'd get pokemart items inside the building 6 days of the week, and special items outside of it on the other day.

Nope, I meant more like the beach bars with tiki lamps.

Summerland's got a beach, but the town itself is floating, like Pacifidlog in Hoenn. Yeah, my pokemon rock idea would be, like, it's spirit comes out of the rock, because of Arceus, then he turns it back into a pokemon, then, out of the huge crowd gathered around, you get to be the lucky one to catch it (After battling off your rival, and Volkner, obvs)

    They're stalking you......

Yeah, my comments are in bold writing, and i'm writing this long-winded to fit character limit

Probably add some government bulidings to Sunyshore, like a firehouse and a police station.

Solaceon, seriously it has nothing. It's like a road that goes through the centre of like 4 buildings. I would:
Use up the space around the area.
Add some kind of entertaining thing there.
Maybe let you inside the daycare area and talk tot he pokemonz :)

probably sunnyshore. It's creaive, but I would like the solar roads to light up at night, thats all.
Oooh, that'd be neat to see, although I don't think solar panels in real life light up like that, still... maybe some built in lighting on the rails? *rubs hands together*

x3 Wouldn't you have to do that with all the towns then?

But wait, it has the ruins that wish they were the Alpha Ruins! ... Okay, okay, you're right, that isn't that fantastic. xD Although it is meant to be one of those lil' towns you pass through on a road trip, but I do like the idea of finally getting to interact with the Pokemon. I've always been fond of that idea.

Great, I'm doing what I do on dA: reply to almost everything, said. xD

Definetely should give twinleaf town more buildings/structures (i.e. Pokemon center, Pokemart, more houses for residents so that it doesn't look like only two families live there.
