Watching episodes of pokemon you always see ash with friends that travel with him all around, what if they made that into the new upcoming gen of pokemon? would you support it? they wouldnt fight all the battles with you only double battles, and also give advice and stuff

  • Moved this into the General Gaming forum--I think you're mainly asking about if this was added to the game mechanics.

Anyway, I kind of prefer it right now, how there are some specific places that you can pick up a partner to travel with and then you part ways later on. I wouldn't mind if that were a more "random" thing, ie you beat a trainer and they might come with you for a bit or a few escort missions that were completely optional... I dunno. It could be interesting if they explored it a little more. :D

  • Kinda like the Cheryl/Riley events in DPPt, but longer in duration? It sounds cool, but that brings up the mechanics of what pokemon they have, if they can randomly catch pokemon while you're distracted, their pokemon having to stay up to level with your pokemon, etc...

It has potential, but it has to be handled carefully. :P

  • I like the idea. How about the accomplice be the rival; the accomplice would choose the type dominant to the player's starter, and eventually attack the player out of some sort of frustration or challenge them to a battle to test their skills.

  • It does seem like a fun idea. I'd totally support it.

As for what type of Pokemon they'd use, that's up to the creators. It would be better if they were skilled in one or two types otherwise it'd just be a pretty random draw
