I'd tell them there was once a French writer by the name of Jules Renard. Perhaps he was a bit of an intellectual too. He once said something.

"If you are afraid of being lonely, don't try to be right"

I'd want them to know that I think he was onto something, and that I am very, very afraid of being alone. I'd want them to know that even though I think he was on to something, I will not heed his warning...

I rarely say anything that was actually meant to be serious or harmful.

If someone came up to me and said "You'll never truly understand me" I'd burst out laughing and walk away from them. Stop trying to be such an attention seeker.

But what I'd want people to know about me is that I will always tell the truth no matter what. It's got me into trouble quite a lot but it's just the way I am. I don't lie to protect someone's feelings, because I'm not fake.
