5th Gen I'm kind of disappointed with this.

    I always kind of hoped Black & White would be where you got to play as Team Rocket. I think a Team Rocket game would be awesome. Like you start as the lowest grunt & move your way up to VP or something then you bust in & beat Giovanni & take over.
     
    yea right, like that would ever happen. I promise you, every game will be collect badges, beat evil team, beat E4, go to post game battle zone (e.g. kanto in HG/SS or battle fronteir)
     
    I knew black and white wouldn't be one of those mate. If we hope for the best, we MIGHT get a spinoff game as you being the villian.

    I just hope this storyline is twisted as hell so i can get my enjoyment.
     
    As cool as that sounds, it's not going to happen in an official pokemon game. Parents would flip their **** if they found out their kid was playing as the bad guy (Yeah, they would for some reason... I don't know why.). And Pokemon doesn't need another reason to get people up in arms, what with it being targeted by multiple religions already.
     
    I know it will never happen, but a girl can dream, right? I also never got the orange islands game I wanted.

    Grand Theft Auto can steal cars & beat hookers, but I can't steal Pokemon. Sigh.
     
    You're right, but the games are targeted towards two different audiences, and a game that originally had a high moral upstanding suddenly having you play the bad guy? That wouldn't suit well for a lot of people.

    With GTA, it never really had you play as a moral young man/woman, at least as far as I know, though with a title like 'Grand Theft Auto', I bet there wasn't one. Oh well, maybe some day there will be a spin off, or a great ROM Hack that has us play the villain.

    How many people do you know who play pokemon and also grand theft auto?

    For pokemon to be viable they have to keep there sqeaky clean ratings, so parents will be comfortable letting there kids buy the games. Kids are the only reason there still alfoat, but i think there tring to expand, to intrest teens and kids with awsome cover artwork.
     
    I was joking with that GTA reference. I get that they're geared towards two different audiences.

    But still a villain game would be pretty cool.
     
    Moral guardians aren't as big a problem with Pokemon now, as it isn't the 'latest thing' anymore. If it was in a spin-off and the protagonist eventually changed sides in the climax, it probably wouldn't be that much of a problem.
