I'm making a site and may need help

    Alright, I want to make a website. I have the knowledge. I have ideas. I have the proper software. I don't know exactly what I want to make it about though, obviously something I know a lot about. Well, those things are:
    Pokemon
    Neopets
    Dragons
    My first choice would be dragons, only because there are so many good sites about pokemon and neopets, and it would be a lot harder to get visitors. But then again, there is no guides or anything to update about dragons, so it is hard to get people to come then. I'm also concerned about the copyright laws, I don't want to get in trouble with my site. And I need a good, cheap host. I'm no beginner in HTML, CSS, or JavaScipt, but I'm sure no expert either. I cannot do PHP at all really, but the kind of site I want doesn't really need much of it. (at least I don't think it does) And as for the art, I can do it all by hand and am an expert with PSP and compression of files too (although Photoshop is on my list of things to get) I cannot make flash, I do not have flash mx or anything, but I want to get that. So any ideas?
     
    There are a lot of Pokemon/Neopets sites, but if you keep at it you'll get visitors. A dragons site couldn't really get updates... >>;;

    I think a dragons site would be pretty cool - after all, there are Western dragons and Eastern dragons, myths of dragons, dragons in books and anime - and I'd help if you wanted, I love dragons ^^. Plus, a dragons site could have really good fanart XD
     
    There's also a Year of the Dragon too. (I'm born in one; I prefer Eastern Dragons to Western.)
    And there's something else I just thought up of. A lot of games/movies have been influenced by dragons. You see a Dragonite in Pokemon, a Shoyru in Neopets and a lot more. Just some ideas if you would like to run a dragon info/fansite.
    Copyright laws? O_O;; As long as you don't steal a copyrighted article/artwork, plagurise, I think you should be ok. Anyway, just a piece of advice: You should check out other websites devoted to Dragons for ideas or comparisons.

    I've never ever seen a dragon site with good artwork, only some clip art and cheap, poorly done art. If I had the only good site with good art, that would work. We'll, one of the best sites for dragons I've seen is here, but the artwork isn't so great. They have soo many links though XD
     
    Meaning that you have a good potential to make a website with better art than them. You'll need contributors too. (Sadly, I don't like drawing mythical dragons, but I like Dragonairs.)
    Are you going to make a site with part cartoon art? It can be really attractive compared to one of purely hand-drawn art (Like the one you recommended up there?).
    I went to that site, and saw a part on Eastern dragons. The picture there really isn't as great as some that I have seen before in China or even some books (or on clothes too). They can look more majestic.
    I'll try and do some searching for you when I can.
     
    Okay, thanks ^_^ I mean, half of the art is ripped off calendars, The Print Shop (I know because I have it) and some other places. I can do realistic dragons and some cartoon like ones, but I really gotta buy my colored pencil set XP I love to draw dragons, it is practically all I draw besides neopets and pokemon. I mean there are no good dragon art sites I know of, and when there is it is purely art and no info :)
     
    We'll, here is an experimental bar for the top. It is experimental, the name is too. It was an idea for the name of the site. It couldn't be the domain name though, as it is taken :P

    I was going to start a website called Dragon Tamer.....anyway, if you do make a dragon site, you'll be getting lots of fanart. XD
    Oh, and if you need help, I know lots about dragons and all of their species and all.

    I have a book on dragons, titled Dragonology. It kinda explains all the science theroys about dragons. But all these other websites tell other tales about dragons life spans (like in my book, it was 200 years, but on this site, the same species lived 1,200 years! It really was a difference!) And does anyone know whether Perl or PHP or someotherthing is better learn, not easier, just more supported, kinda like xhtml compared to html. Since I really don't know either, I want to learn the more supported one XD
     
    The two of you could get together and co-webmaster the dragon site. And I'm not a great artist, but I could draw some fanart just so you have some content... or write fanfics, I love writing fantasy ^^. I used to draw dragons a lot when I was younger, actually...

    I have....three books on Dragons. And one on mythology. XD Anyway, just an idea, but maybe you could put something about Yin and Yang on your site. Or why the Dragon is so important in the Chinese Zodiac.

    About the co-webmaster thing, urr, my umm parents are going to be looking at the whole thing before I post it up, so I doubt anyone who they don't know can have access to it. I think they may allow some kind of fanart thing, or fanfics, but it would have to be sent by email or something. I'm sure you could help me with the content and all, but first I probably have to get the server, an email for the website, the website up and running before any fanart goes up or anything. The chinese zodiac is a good idea, but I'm not so sure about yin and yang. That isn't too relevant to dragons really. :P
    Preview!!! I did a lot of work and, ta da! I made it. It will have (hopefully) alternate style sheets for printing and another one to make it load faster and to get the dark and fire colors off so it will be a bit easier on your eyes :P
