4th Gen I'm new to the whole competitive battling. please help

    I'm knew to all this special stat raising pokemon and special breeding and so on.
    I have a friend(impo) who is very good at that kind of thing and he keeps beating me no matter what i do, so please give me some advice...
     
    The Pokémon Strategies and Movesets section would be the best place to start here. It's all about competitive battling through Wi-Fi and Smogon. If you take a look at their stickies such as the Complied Guides - Fourth Generation, Threats in the OU Metagame you'll learn a lot about how to train and build a team for competitive battling. Another site that's great use in building a team and teaching you strategy in this field would be Smogon. If you were to read up on Serebii's Game Mechanics page and read about the difference aspects and what they (i.e. IV's, EV's, etc.) it should help out a lot too.
