    This is a companion to the Unluckiest/Stupidest thread. Who here has tried to do a task (finding a Pokemon, item, person for example) and ended doing/finding/catching/battling something so good instead, you couldn't believe your luck as just plain stupidity got factored into the stroke of good luck?

    Perhaps an example is needed.

    I was playing Ruby, looking for a female Gloom and wondering around Route 123, as I read some were there and I found the Latios. I wasn't even considering looking for him and there he was. I used the Master Ball immediately but I couldn't believe my...stupid luck.

    Yes, Latios on Route 123.

    Now, who has had similar, quite stupid good luck? Regale us with your bouts of fortuitous stupidity.

    I looked as back as I could (pretty far back, but not far enough apparently), but since the current rotation doesn't have anything on this, so I thought I could breech the subject. Or revive as it seems to be the trend with others.

    My apologies for repeating.
     
    In my Ruby, after trying for months to catch Rayquaza with master balls, status problems and level 100 pokemon, I decided to use Rayquaza as my idol. So one day I went up to the sky pillar just to see Its Mightiness. So I thought, that as long as I was there, I might as well try to catch it. I got it down to barely red, thought, 'what the heck', threw a Great Ball at it without any extra help and caught it. The downside is that in my months of rayquaza-catching attempts, I fainted a shiny one. o_O;;
     
    Well, jc_rcw, then we'll see what the mods do.

    Edit: Seeing as the ball is rolling, another stupid but lucky thing I did was a Pokemon Contest, it was Breloom (I think) and I was glancing the moves, thinking what move but I sped up the choice selection and pushed the wrong move in and I ended getting an ovation. I lost it next turn but that was something.

    I didn't win that Contest but I still enjoyed the fact that I got that applause. Oh well, life goes on.
     
    I was looking for a Magmar in the burned building in Cinnibar on my Fire red, (I didn't know where to catch it then. I know now.), and found a shiny Rattata! I was so amazed because I thought shinies were just rumours!
     
    - I was fighting some Magicarps while fishing on route 119 (the route with Feebas, correct me if I'm wrong). Then, I ran into a Feebas fishing spot!
    I filled up a whole box with Feebas, out of happiness

    - I too, also ran into Latios unintentionally.
     
    I found 2 shinies in a row on my way up to battle Rayquaza in Sapphire: Claydol and Altaria. Caught both of 'em and traded them for a Feebas and Eevee. :)
     
    I am going to leave this here for right now. There does not appear to be anything like this.

    Here is one from me:
    I had tried for one hour to manuever the floors in the Sky Pillar. I was frustrated when I realized I wasn't getting anywhere with it so I left. Within a minute of leaving the tower up popped Latios.

    :surprised Mine's very similar to yours.
    I was playing Sapphire, looking for items at Route 132. I was going around a bunch of rocks. I wasn't even expecting a Pok?mon, when... A Latias appeared! I used Master Ball. That time I was so stupid I didn't know Latias was hard to find. O_O
    Another one-
    I was in this new place I found where you can catch Jigglypuff and Swablu. I was looking for a Male Jigglypuff for a LONG time. What did I find? A shiny Swablu! And I caught it.

    Wow thats lucky! You were trying to breed a Igglybuff weren't you? I traded a torchic that I breeded from my other torchics for a shiney Ledian!
     
    I had just got my action replay and my friend was over and we were putting in encounter codes. Any way he wanted to play a trick on me so he handed me my action replay claiming he had put a latios code on so i started my game up and I found a Latios. I said wow this thing actually works! (It was the first encounter code we had tried.)And he goes "what but i didn't put the code on i was just joking. It turns out I had actually caught the real one!

    Yes, as a matter of fact I was! :D
    And you're very lucky there. I always thought getting a shiny by breeding is VERY hard. O_O
     
    this wasnt really good luck but i was looking for a trapinch when i found a latios i was about to catch it when my gba's batteries ran out nand it turned of
     
    When I was being stupid and decided to throw all 99 of my Pok?balls at Mewtwo a while back when I was playing Pok?mon Red. Hey guess what? I caught it on the 39th Pok?ball, which in the end became my lucky number. :]
     
    mine is a little stupid,

    when I went to the Birth island ( after getting mai ticket through event )
    I went to get Latias ( i was playing on game boy player, so everyone could see ) i wasted about 78 ultra balls on the thing, then my bro said ...go on throw a pokeball
    so i did, and i caught it ....then when i left, Latois appeared, so my bro said " go on, through a pokeball at it "...i think you know what happend...I caught the thing,

    -_- now one of the things people say to me is " go on, through a pokeball at it "
     
    My turn again.

    I was in the tunnel right before the League building in Evergrande and hoping not to reach any more wild Pokemon as all my team were right on the edge of fainting. I was fine as I almost reached the exit and I encountered a wild Lairon and I couldn't run away and it did Roar and scared me off and I bolted out of the cave and helped up.

    God, that was stupid or lucky or...I'm not sure which. That's what I get for not getting Max Repel.
     
    Well, I was simply playing my game one day, hanging around the berry farm and the surrounding routes. When all of a sudden, a Latios appeared. I thought it was a glitch in my game so I ran. Two battles, yes like TWO battles later, I run into Latios again, without trying and catch him.
    I can be so lucky, yet I have no shiny!

    you mean without master balls right? oh and mine was that i was looking for like Entie in Silver an i end up finding a Chansey with a lucky egg
