Obviously you don't need to do a sprite, that's just the first thing that came into my head. Feel free to crop the canvas, and do whatever you want really!

Just to give you an idea, this is where I originally went with this piece.

I combined your piece which was lacking a foreground with my piece which was lacking a background and came up with the messiest image of all time :D
