I have played and traded pokemon since the first starter sets and booster packs came out.. I used to play alot, but not am its a little fuzzy how every rule worked.. I just bough d/p legends awakened and a couple boosters. So here r our my 2 main questions first
    1. Okay we flip a coin to see who goes first. I win the flip, so i go first.. Then ash kills my pokemon. I bring out my next 1, who goes first.. Me who won the flip. Or himself who killed my pokemon and is still useing that same 1 who killed me..
My guess- The person who kills the pokemon will attack first, let alone who won the first flip.
    2. If i take out my active pokemon and put in a new 1.. Thats my turn right, i can't attack till my next turn..

They r kinda noobish questions but its been a while, and this will help my game play, so ty u advanced.

I don't entirely understand your first question. The person who wins the coin flip goes first. You can only attack once per turn.

You may retreat, then attack with your new pokémon, but after you attack, your turn ends unless a card already in play dictates otherwise. If you kill the opposing defending pokémon with an attack, your turn ends because you attacked. In between turns, your opponent moves up a new defending pokémon, then it is their turn.

I hope that helps, but if not try rephrasing your question.

What i mean is Once i kill my opponents Pokemon And he brings in a new 1 do i go first since i killed his last Pokemon or do we flip again.

Oh and second question u kinda answered for me, so i can retreat a pokemon and attack with the new pokemon in that same turn. Besides when changing Pokemon that "itself" counts as a turn

I don't think you understand what turns are.

A turn constitutes a round of combat: a turn starts by drawing a card and ending at a players discretion, or else when he attacks. You flip a coin ONLY at the beginning of the game to determine who goes first. Afterwords, after either player attacks, it is the other players turn. You continue alternating until a player wins, taking additional turns ONLY if a card says so.

I suggest you familiarize yourself with the rulebooks that came with the starter sets, and also playing the demo at the pokémon organized play website:

Once you get a better grasp on the basics, come back here if you still need help. Hope that was clear.

Thanks man, lol. I know the game pretty well, but there were some things i had to clear up cause some people i was playing with were unsure. But i know what a turn is, just some other trading card games were throwing me off. And i have not played for 6 years so i could not give them the 100 % certainty that i was correct.. But thanks for settling that for us, just did not wanna mess up the rules.. thanks again

Time to make a new deck, can't find my old 1... it was op
i had all of the first 150 pokemon except for alakazam cause i traded him for someone else..

Its cool, glad I could help. I'm sure there was some kind of misunderstanding here (this may be an incorrect use of the past tense... I still don't really get what you were asking to be honest, heh), but if I somehow clarified things glad I could lend a hand, and sorry if I sounded impatient/patronizing at all (in retrospect upon reading I could see how I might have had came off that way).
