4th Gen Improvements to pokemon D/P?

Well let me see here..

I really like the character customization idea, but then again, it could be a lot of trouble. I mean..you're only playing as a little sprite. I could see if it was a 3D game on a console. But I would still welcome the addition.

I just really really hope they make Rock Smash and Defog TM's. ARGH!

I agree with the above ^ poster too, that more than one save file would be awesome.

Yeah, Flash being bumped from HM down to TM in D/P was sorely needed, considering you "need" it sometimes, and you can't erase HMs by conventional methods (IE. learning a new move and deleting the old move). Also helped by the rule of thumb that there are exactly 8 HMs in Pokemon games.

Annoying Hms drive me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Game play wise I just wish that the battle animations didn't have pauses and were not as slow anymore. If you pay attention, you'll notice the battles in the 3rd gen had a much more rapid pace.
Other than that, I at least want an option to have the main character being somewhere around 15. I hate always having to run around as a 10 year old kid every game.

The majority of trainers you battle should have their pokemon evolved at their correct levels, with the exception of maybe breeders. This would give you more EXP and more of a challenge. It's no fun playing through the game KO'ing every oppenent haha.

I agree. I mean, who's heard of a lv.40 magikarp?
Also Defog is hugely annoying. You only use it like twice in the actual game, and after that it's just a nuisance. A totally useless move in battle aswell. I taught it to staraptor and he's my 1 of my main fighting pokemon. Oh well, it's off to the move deleter in canalave city for me ^_^.

i Agree with that i feel your pain ^^

And what i dont like in D/P is that they only have one dumb minigame.

Hahah yeah.

I agree with what Kudra said about battling as well. I wish they would make them more fast paced. Also I hope they get rid of the pokemon blinking after it gets hit, I hate that.

This as well haha.

One thing for me is the pokemon contests. I've been a fan since they started and uh, yeah. Now they're just a bit strange. I mean I don't really have as much fun dressing up and dancing with my pokemon as say maybe a 12 year old would haha. I liked the methods back from gen III.

that they made in every pokemon game the male character with a hat exept for Gen III i hate the hat looks bit tooo lame lol the male needs a better look like in gen III

Pokemon contests are better then a few old games though they don't play as big a part in the actual game as I would like. Wouldn't it be nice if you choose to either be a pokemon trainer/breeder/coordinator at the start of the game. That way the game play may last a bit longer. More minigames too please!

Id say that you should be abe to put a hold on moves on pokemon when you put them in Daycare. Its so annoying when they level up and you find that they dont have the moves that you wanted them to keep.
I know there's the move relearner but you have to exchange a heart scale for it and some moves (like egg moves, maybe?) you might not be able to get back.

Also, when you hatch an egg in pokemon sapphire ect. they're lv.5. In d/p they're lv.1. Maybe lv.5 would be better?

I love the lv. 1 pokemon that hatch from eggs. I've been hoping they would do that since G/S/C. Any time I raise pokemon, I try to catch them at the lowest level possible. If I'm raising a Starly, I'll try to get one at lv. 2. If I want one that you can only catch at a higher level, like Skorupi in the Great Marsh, sometimes I'll breed it so I can raise it from the beginning.

As for LegendaryPokeBreeder, I completely agree with putting a hold on certain moves. I really hope they include that eventually.

I've said what I needed to about contests haha. I still love the appeal rounds. The dancing is even ok. I just can't get into dressing up my pokemon haha. It's like dressing up an animal..if I get a pet someday it will never be dressed up.

That move hold would be nice. If not that, at least the option to relearn a move your pokemon used to know that was taught with a TM or by breeding.
