[Gen 6] In Norman's footsteps (Normal Types AS playthrough)

---Session 58---

I jump into the water and surf towards the next hole in the wall. I fish a couple times and catch a Luvdisc and Wailmer for the Dex. It's level 40 so I could just rare candy it for wailord and access the Regis... do I want to though? I already caught every legendary in this game like 4-5 times... I think I'll just go for Deoxys and maybe Rayquaza and ignore everything else tbh.

I hop ashore and shove a Strength boulder into a hole to pass.
Ace Trainer Albert. Sigilyph. Return - Gravity. Return. Rhyperior comes in so I switch to Kecleon. Power-Up Punch - Hammer Arm. Power-Up Punch - Drill Run. Power-Up Punch.

I pick up a Full Heal and a hidden Max Repel. I catch a Medicham for the Dex.
Ace Trainer Hope. Froslass. Aerial Ace - Wake Up Slap. Weird choice...
Aerial Ace to finish it. I head down the ladder afterward.

I heal up Swellow and Kecleon and find a hidden Ultra Ball. I make my way past the strength boulders in the cave's mood lighting area.
I catch a Hariyama for the Dex. Just need a Lairon to show up now and I can spray repels. I push some boulders around to get to a PP Up.
Expert Bryn. Hitmontop. Feint - Aerial Ace. Throh comes in. Aerial Ace.

I climb up the ladder. Ace Trainer Edgar. Mawile. Focus Energy - Stockpile. Return - Stockpile. Aerial Ace - Stockpile. Fly turn 1 - Iron Head misses. Fly turn 2 crits and ends it.
I find a hidden Elixir and cross the rope bridge. I climb down a ladder and catch a Lairon with a crit catch Quick Ball. I follow the path for a Max Elixir and head back up the ladder.

Street Thug Regan. Houndoom. Return. Shiftry comes in. Aerial Ace.
I go down the ladder at the end of this path.

Ace Duo Jude & Rory. Armaldo & Cradily. I switch Swellow into Kecleon and have Zangoose Swords Dance. Cradily Giga Drains Zangoose and Armaldo Slashes Kecleon. Crush Claw sends Armaldo into Yellow HP and after Cradily and Armaldo repeating their last turn Power-Up Punch from Kecleon knocks out Armaldo. Crush Claw sends Cradily into Yellow HP, who uses Energy Ball before my Kecleon uses Dig. Crush Claw finishes it off.

I heal Zangoose and Kecleon with Hyper Potions and hop onto the water. I switch Wigglytuff into the lead as Swellow is level 57 now.
I grab the Luck Incense from my bag as apparently nobody was holding it and give it to Wigglytuff. I surf down and head outside for the Psychic TM. I head back inside and cross the little pond.
Expert Theodore. Sawk. Bulk up - Dazzling Gleam.

I shove some boulders around for the Flamethrower TM.
Ace Trainer Vito. Electrode. Light Screen - Dazzling Gleam. Self-Destruct. Swalot comes in. Gastro Acid - Hyper Voice. Sludge Bomb - Charge Beam and I get the raise... I really should just switch though lol
I send Zangoose in. Sludge Bomb. Crush Claw. Darmanitan comes in. Crush Claw.

I heal up Wigglytuff and Zangoose with Hyper Potions and press on. I surf on the next little pond I come across and head outside for a dead end, so I go back in and hop ashore again.
Dragon Tamer Egon. Oh you're not gonna like my lead, Mr cape man. Kingdra. Brine - Dazzling Gleam. It lives on 1 HP somehow =O
Focus Energy - Hyper Voice.

I head up the ladder and follow the path over some rope bridges.
Brain & Brawn Aden & Finn. Musharna & Primeape. Crush Claw sends Musharna into Yellow HP and Primeape Cross Chops Zangoose. Dazzling Gleam than almost finishes both off sending them into a sliver of HP. Musharna uses Lucky Chant. Primeape haxes and avoids Crush Claw somehow. It Cross Chops Zangoose dead :sadwick:
Wigglytuff finishes them both with Hyper Voice.

I Max Revive Zangoose. No need to heal Wigglytuff. I climb up another ladder. Ah the final area before Wally.
I pick up a hidden Iron and make my way to the next hole in the wall. I stop at a Waterfall to go up it. X-Scissor TM.
I go back down and enter the next area.

I switch Kecleon into the lead due to needing Exp the most currently. I save before walking in.
Pokemon Trainer Wally. Altaria. Safeguard - Shadow Claw. Aerial Ace - Trick Room. Shadow Claw. Does it not have Cotton Guard or something?
Anyway... Delcatty comes in. I don't wanna faint the poor kitty, but it chose the wrong trainer to join :sadwick:
Power-up Punch. Roselia comes in. Shadow Claw. Safeguard ends and Magneton comes in. It might have Sturdy so I'll just Power-Up Punch. It does have Sturdy. Magneton's attack misses and Trick Room ends. Screech - Trick Room. Power-up Punch.
Gallade comes in and goes Mega mode. Doesn't matter. Shadow Claw. Dead. I'm at +3 attack, you ain't living that bud xD

Wally gives me a Dawn Stone. I have a quick look around and run for the next hole in the wall. I run over to the Pokemon League and grab the Mewtwonite Y outside. Was the Hoenn victory road always this short and easy? Oh well.

I enter the building and heal at the PC. I buy 12 Hyper Potions and 6 Full Restores at the Mart, as well as 7 Revives, a Full Heal and 22 Super Repels. I then fly off to the Shoal Cave. It's high tide at last. I spray a Max Repel and find a hidden Star Piece before going further in.

I quickly find 2 Shoal Shells. I have to spray a Super Repel before I find the 3rd. I pick up a Rare Candy and then find the 4th Shoal Shell. I pick up the Big Pearl on the way back and talk to the old geezer for my Shell Bell. He then gives me a Slowbronite =O
I leave the cave again. Done here.

I then fly to Oldale Town. I grab my Linoone squad again from the PC and head onto Route 102. Victory Road went pretty quick so I still have time to start the next shiny hunt here this session.
Starting Search Level of 3. Oof. Let's aim for 105 I guess?

I end up getting my Search Level up to Level 115.

---Session 59 & 60---

I work my Search Level up to 335, with two 100 chains. Upon return from the PC a Tympole shows up in DexNav and I shrug and then catch it in a quick ball.

In session 60 I get my Shiny Lotad at search level 462 after a 100 chain and then the 27th in the next chain. Was gonna grind till 550 tbh... showed up earlier. Guess I'll up Zigzagoon's Search Level a bit then as I'd prefer to start the E4 in a new session tomorrow and I don't need any more shiny Lotad.

Spoiler:

Looks like my starting Search level is... 78. Decent starting point. A quick look at it's moveset in gen 6... Take Down and Belly Drum can damage it if it's level goes past 31. Nothing threatening to it's well being otherwise. Nothing to switch me out either.
It's shiny goes kinda orange so I should be able to recognize it.

I grind the Search level up to 200 and a shiny Zagzagoon just randomly shows up at Search level 148 already 0.0

Spoiler:

I wasn't even here to actually shiny hunt it yet. I just wanted to up my Search Level a bit before doing the E4 xD
Initially intended to make Lotad my last shiny hunt of the playthrough. My Linoone squad has been super helpful though so I added the Zigzagoon line. Was not expecting one to show up already. Which now begs the question... do I still do the E4 next session... or do I grind on for the 2nd Zigzagoon so that I don't have to do any shiny hunting during the Delta Episode? Leaning towards the latter tbh.

---Session 61 & 62---

I mess up my chain on the 80th Zigzagoon. :sadwick:
And I mess up again at Search Level 332. Was gonna go till 400, but having messed up again I'll stop at 350. Might just be too tired atm.

In session 62 I get my Search Level up to 445 which is when my 2nd shiny Zigzagoon shows up. 5 away from the 100 chain being completed.
I opt to complete the chain anyway, it's only 5 more. Nope no additional shiny.

Spoiler:

I run back to the PC to heal and bench the Linoone Squad again. Well I was gonna evolve this Zigzagoon, but the one I caught first is Jolly so I might as well evolve that one. I pull half my party out the box and the Jolly Zigzagoon and then use a Rare Candy on it. I then put it in the PC and grab Swellow and the HM bois.

I fly to Mauville to see if the New Mauville thing is available yet. Wattson's here so I guess so. The old geezer invites a child he doesn't know up to his apartment...

I take the elevator up to Mauville Hills. I go into the first door to my right and battle an old woman in a Rotation Battle.
Rotation Girl Circie. Could've at least called her Rotation Woman. Ah all 3 of the simis. I just have Zangoose Swords Dance and Simisage goes for Brick Break. She rotates to Simipour which dies to Crush claw. She rotates to Simisear next and it too dies to Crush Claw. One left. Simisage. Crush Claw gets avoided. Such bs. Isn't it like 95% accurate...
Energy Ball. Crush Claw. Done. I receive an Elixir in reward. These rotation battles have always been silly.

I get a Careless Ribbon from the girls next door. Kinda wish I had Delcatty and Exploud in my party now.
The affection checker here seems to give different results from the other person I had check that stuff earlier. I'm unable to enter the other 2 rooms here so I continue on right. The top 2 rooms here have nothing of note it seems... wait weren't there rooms with balconies.... I go back to the left one and find a U-Turn TM on a balcony.
Next apartment down has a debt collector scene and I can't go in. Same for the one on the right.

On the bottom passage I find Watson on the right top apartment. I can't enter the bottom two. I talk to some people in the other apartment here. I continue the loop and find 3 more apartments I can't enter. I talk to the NPC's in the other one, but nothing noteworthy. I run to Wattson. He takes a picture of my eyes... an old geezer, inviting a child to his apartment... randomly taking a photo without consent like that...
I talk to green haired woman... Wattson's her husband ? 0.0
Dude's like twice her age. I check the balcony, but nothing there aside from a Taillow just vibing out. I run back to the elevator and see the debt collector dude again. I talk to him and get a Lopunnite.

I leave Mauville City and head south. I surf to New Mauville. The computer beeps and boops and then lets me in. I find a hidden Max Repel. Interacting with a Poke Ball on the ground starts a fight with Voltorb. I just run.
I check the other side. An Escape Rope, Paralyze Heal, Thunder Stone and 2 angry Voltorbs. Stairs down are off limits so I head into the back. I pick up a Full Heal and catch a Magnemite for the Dex. I then spray a Super Repel and hit a button on a computer to finish this side quest. I encounter another angry Voltorb Poke Ball and pick up an Ultra Ball after running from it. I find an Ampharosite and a Metal Coat. I then leave, pretty sure that was it.
I notice the Magnemite on the DexNav outside. Might hunt that later as I already got 2 shiny Magneton. Add a Magnemite and I can complete the line.

I fly back to Mauville City. I heal at the PC and go to Wattson. He gives me the Thunderbolt TM. This has always been such a weird side thing. I head back outside and sell of some things at the Mart before flying to Lilycove. I go to the Department Store and lose at the Loto corner again. I check the first floor... nope not the merchant I need. Second floor... ah yes. Dunno how many I need so I just buy 20 X Sp. Def and 17 X Defense. Then 15 X Sp. Attack and 14 X Attack. I leave again and then fly to the Pokemon League.

I dump my HM bois into the box and grab Delcatty and Exploud. I'll try without X items, but I want to have them on hand in case I need them. I un-equip Kecleon's Luck Incense, though I would not mind the extra cash, I probably won't have any need for it unless I actually shiny hunt Magnemite and it goes extremely poorly wasting a lot of Super Repels.
I give Swellow the Sky Plate and Wigglytuff the Pixie Plate.... though Leftovers could be good for it too tbh. Probably my tankiest Pokemon. I let Zangoose keep holding the Silk Scarf. Let's see.... where do you get the Assault Vest in these games... Battle Resort. Not gonna be using that then, but would've been good for Delcatty. I give Kecleon the Fist Plate because of Power-Up Punch, though that could also go on Delcatty for Wake-Up Slap.

Hmm... King's Rock... I don't have any Flinching moves do I...
Lax Incense could be okay. Leftovers maybe. Oh Metronome... that's going on Exploud. Shell Bell, maybe. Oh I got a Wide Lens. Really need to check my team's moves. Could help with making Charge Beam more reliable at least.
I first teach Zangoose Return and have it forget False Swipe. Zangoose's move set seems fine now. Kecleon I'd kinda like to swap Shadow Claw and Dig, but I don't think I got any new good physical TM's for it. Hmm... probably not gonna use Rest on Wigglytuff, more likely to just use Potions. Need to replace Bite on Exploud. I think Delcatty's move set is fine as it is. Would not mind replacing Focus Energy on Swellow, but a potential crit machine could be good.

I look over the TM's and opt to teach Flamethrower to Exploud in place of Bite and Ice Beam to Wigglytuff over Rest. Leaves one more move I need. I checked Exploud and he doesn't learn it naturally until level 85. I ain't waiting for that. I Soar in the Sky to Fallarbor and trade a Heart Scale to teach Exploud Boomburst while having it forget Uproar.
I then Soar back to the League. I give Exploud the Metronome, Delcatty the Shell Bell and swap Wigglytuff's Pixie Plate for the Wide Lens.

As for PP.... Return is 20, so I think Zangoose doesn't need any. Kecleon should be fine too. Swellow is fine.
Should up PP for Delcatty's Wake-Up Slap and Play Rough. Exploud's Boomburst as well. All moves on Wigglytuff tbh.
I use a PP Up on Wake-Up Slap and Play Rough, 3 on Boomburst, the last 3 I do one each on Hyper Voice, Charge Beam and Ice Beam for Wigglytuff. I use my PP Max on Dazzling Gleam.

I talk to the 2 goons in front of the door and they check my badges. They step aside. I save and end my session.
Kinda feel like I over-prepared tbh.

---Session 63---

I enable the Exp. Share again and put Wigglytuff in the lead. The Dark E4 is first iirc.

Elite Four Sidney. Mightyena triggers Competetive. Thanks for the free boost chump. Swagger and Wiggly hits itself in confusion. Of course it does. AI and their hax.
Take Down - hit itself in confusion. I just use a Hyper Potion now. Take Down again. Take Down and Wiggly snaps out of confusion and lasers the mutt with a Dazzling Gleam. serves it right.
Sharpedo comes in. Poison Fang badly poison me - Dazzling Gleam. You'd think the badly poison is guaranteed with how the AI keeps always getting it... buncha haxers.
Shiftry comes in and uses Fake Out. Well dang, now I either have to switch or heal. Swellow can handle this thing though. Leaf Blade. I use Aerial Ace.
Absol comes in and I stay in. Return 1 hits it. Cacturne comes in. Spiky Shield blocks Aerial Ace. Aerial Ace.

Was hoping to have Wigglytuff solo the dude, but that Toxic poison ruined things. I heal up and head to the next E4 member.
I put Zangoose into the lead because Night Slash.

Elite Four Phoebe. Dusclops. Swords Dance - Future Sight. Swords Dance - Confuse Ray. Ugh, really. I hit myself in confusion of course and it Curses me. I then take Future Sight and Curse damage and get knocked out. Got greedy I guess lol
I send Delcatty in. Feint attack knocks it out.
Sableye comes in and I Max Revive Zangoose so it doesn't miss out on too much Exp. It uses Fake Out and gets Infatuated. Feint attack does not do much and Sableye is immobilized by luv. Play Rough doesn't miss for once and knocks it out. Banette comes in. It just barely lives Feint attack. Did not see what move it used. She Full Restores and I Faint attack it back down. Another Full Restore and another Feint Attack. Feint Attack faints it next turn.
Dusknoir comes in. Feint Attack does a little under half. It Fire Punches. Feint Attack crits and faints it. Banette comes in. Feint attack - Will-O-Wisp. You should've used that earlier lol
Now I just use one more Feint attack to faint it and win lol

Funny how Zangoose got bopped trying to set up and then Delcatty just provides reliable damage and sweeps without any setup whatsoever.
The Ice E4 is next so... could go Exploud for Flamethrower... isn't half her team Water type? Like 1 or 2 Sealeo and a Walrein? Hmm... or was it 2 Froslass and a Walrein. I don't remember lol
I just put Delcatty in the lead, pretty well rounded move wise.

Elite Four Glacia. Glalie. Wake-Up Slap - Light Screen. Wake-Up Slap. Free fight. Froslass comes in. It lands Blizzard with no Hail being up and freezes me. Hax to the max.
I counter the Hax with a Full Restore. Confuse Ray. Ffs really... it's going to be like this huh. Hail - hit itself in confusion, because of course it does. Blizzard - Feint attack after snapping out of confusion. Delcatty just barely lives the next Blizzard and Feint attacks the Froslass down. It just barely lives the hail with Shell Bell healing it and leveling up. I switch to Kecleon.
Froslass #2. Blizzard - Trick Room. Shadow Claw misses - Shadow Ball. Snow Cloak I guess? Isn't the hail over though? Shadow Claw faints it next turn.
Walrein comes in. Kecleon is low thanks to that bs miss and Trick Room will end soon anyway. I switch to Wigglytuff. The battle of the tanks. Charge Beam and I get the raise. It misses Blizzard. Hyper Voice knocks it out.
Glalie comes in. Freeze-Dry - Hyper Voice. It lives in red. Probably gonna Full Restore as she hasn't used any yet. I charge Beam and get the raise. Hail - Hyper Voice.

I heal up my party and run off to dragon land. I put Wigglytuff in the lead.

Elite Four Drake. Altaria. Probably gonna Cotton Guard. Nope, Aerial Ace. Charge Beam but no raise. Aerial Ace crits - Charge Beam. Aerial Ace - Charge Beam. Still no raise. Wth... isn't it like a 70% chance to raise. Aerial Ace - Charge beam and I finally get the raise. Aerial Ace crits again - Ice Beam.
I use a Hyper Potion as Flygon comes in. Boomburst. Boomburst - Ice Beam. Flygon #2. Earthquake - Ice Beam.
Kingdra comes in and I Hyper Potion. Yawn. Yawn - Charge Beam and I get the raise now that it's nap time lol. I don't think it gets Dream Eater though so I just stay in. Surf - asleep. Surf - asleep. Surf - asleep. I Hyper Potion again as a Full Restore would just get me Yawned again. Surf. Surf - wakes up for a Hyper Voice. Didn't feel like switching.
Salamence comes in and decides my +2 Sp. attack isnt enough and gives me another +2 with Intimidate triggering Competetive. Zen Headbutt - Ice Beam.

Get swept by a balloon, Drake. I Hyper Potion Wigglytuff to heal up my party. Now who to lead with... Steven's team is pretty slow. Kecleon might not 'outslow' them enough for Trick Room to help. the lead is Skarmory though, which usually sets up Spikes and probably has a Steel attack so I'm not leading with Wigglytuff.
Oh Exploud. It has Flamethrower. It's a special attacker too, I think Steven's mons are mostly Defensively tanky and not specially? Oh well, we'll see. I run over to him and the dapper gentleman introduces himself once more. I turn up the music volume for the fight.

Champion Steven. Skarmory. Flamethrower triggers Sturdy and it uses Spikes. Full Restore. Flamethrower into Sturdy again. Flamethrower kills it. Aggron is next. Hmm... quad resists my Normal attacks. Fire is neutral though so... I'll just stay in. Flamethrower into Sturdy - Iron Tail drops my defense. I use Extrasensory.
Claydol comes in. Boomburst sends it into red HP and it Reflects. Steven uses a Full Restore - Boomburst still does a little over half. Boomburst again to faint it.
Cradily comes in and I switch to Kecleon as I want to rid myself of that Defense drop before Metagross comes out. Confuse Ray - Power-Up Punch crits it into low yellow HP. Giga Drain - Power-Up Punch. Light Screen wears off and Armaldo comes in. Crush Claw and I hit myself in confusion. I use a Hyper Potion. Crush Claw. Crush Claw and Kecleon hits itself in confusion again... -.-
I switch to Delcatty. Crush Claw and it gets the Defense drop so I use an X defense to offset it. X-Scissor. I Hyper Potion. X-Scissor. Wake-up Slap - X-Scissor. Return - X-Scissor and Delcatty barely lives. I switch Exploud back in. Seems I need to go special for this. I heal Kecleon and tank an X-Scissor. I then heal Exploud and tank another one. It barely lives Flamethrower and X-Scissors again. I Flamethrower again just to get rid of it. I don't think I outspeed Metagross tbh. I switch to Zangoose.
Steven Megas his Metagross and Bullet Punches. I Night Slash. It Giga Impacts which faints Zangoose, but it's not gonna be able to move for a turn now. Fool, you just handed me the win on a silver platter. I send my low HP Exploud in and Flamethrower deletes it.

Was not expecting to struggle so much with Armaldo. Quite tanky apparently. Would've gone a lot better if Kecleon hadn't stayed confused so damn long. Oh well. RNG at the E4 is usually haxlike for the opponent.
I sit through the lengthy 'you're the champion now' chatter. Wanted to take a pic of the hall of fame screen, but it just rotates around me and never shows my entire party on screen at once.
When I leave the room May shows why's she's best girl. We leave together and the credits roll in.

Pokemon Trainer May. Swellow. Aerial Ace - Boomburst. Raichu. Light Screen - Boomburst. Magcargo comes in so I switch to Kecleon. Dig - Lava Plume misses. Dig. Wailord comes in and I switch to Zangoose. Crush Claw. Sceptile... mega?
Yes. Crush Claw faints it though.

We watch a meteor shower together and the game ends. I then get a still image and the Delta Episode starts.
I load back in and get to watch a cutscene of some grown ups freaking out over a meteorite. Then Zinnia reveals herself.

I start in my room and go down. The old folk give me some tickets. I talk to mom again and get an Amulet Coin.
After a short talk with Zinnia I go over to May. Her Key stone was stolen... how rude! Zinnia must pay for this!
I then check in with the Professor for the National dex. I run over to Petalburg and interrupt Matt and Wally.
Aqua Admin Matt. Sharpedo. Skull Bash turn 1 - Boomburst.

Wally's Keystone got stolen as well. Matt mentions Meteor Falls. Steven calls me and wants me to come to Rustboro.
I check in with the PC and put Wigglytuff and Delcatty into the box. Going to need my HM bois again for Meteor Falls and those two are the highest level atm at level 62.

I fly to Rustboro to check in with Steven. His old geezer spouts a lengthy tale.
I leave afterward for Granite Cave. I spray a repel on entry and zoom over to the mural. Zinnia is here of course.
Pokemon Trainer Zinnia. Tyrantrum. Stone edge - Power-Up Punch. Dragon claw - Trick Room. Power-Up Punch. Altaria comes in. Shadow Claw and it lives just barely. Moonblast lowers my Sp. attack. Shadow Claw.
Salamence comes in... wish I had Wigglytuff on me now lol
I switch to Exploud as it won't care about the Intimidate at least. Boomburst.

I get a Meteorite Shard and then a phone call from Steven. I leave the cave and fly for Mossdeep. I heal at the PC before going to the Space Center. During the lengthy conversation Zinnia barges in and starts judging us, acting like a know it all. Nobody likes people like that, Zinnia.

I leave and Fly to Meteor Falls. Really wish the Delta Episode didn't make you trudge around the whole dang region again tbh. Oh well. I didn't fully explore this place after getting Waterfall so I'll leave it for my next session.
I enter Meteor Falls, take a step to the left and save and then quit.

---Session 64---

I spray a Super Repel and head for the water. I find a hidden Great Ball and head up the big Waterfall.
I search the areas at the top and find a hidden Stardust before going into the hole in the wall.
I climb down a ladder. Battle Girl Tess. Mienshao. U-Turn - Shadow Claw.

I head up another ladder for a dead end with no items. Back down again then.
Dragon Tamer Dray. Altaria. Perish Song - Shadow Claw. Dragon Pulse - Shadow Claw. Why would you open with Perish Song if you have only 1 Pokemon? 0.0

I catch a Clefairy that showed up in DexNav. I climb up a ladder.
Old Couple John & Jay. Medicham & Hariyama. Endure - Extrasensory - Acupressure - Shadow Claw. Hariyama endured the hit so one more Extrasensory to finish things.

I arrive at the dapper gentleman talking to an elderly woman deep inside the cave. She gives me a history lesson.
On the way down I follow the left path to find an Aerodactylite and a hidden Super Repel.
I surf to get back to another ladder. I then surf to get to an opening in the wall. I find a hidden Star Piece before heading in.
I find the TM for Dragon Claw and head back. I then surf down the other path for a PP Max.

Then I have to go all the way back to the room I got lectured in so I can go down the right half.
Dragon Tamer Nicolas. Flygon. Dragon Rush - Shadow Claw. Dragon Rush flinches. Dragon Rush - Shadow Claw.
I then leave Meteor Falls and fly to Fallarbor. I heal and go up the Waterfall on Route 114 for... a Rare Candy.

I fly to Mauville to swap bikes and then fly to Route 119. I head to the river and Surf up to the Waterfall to go up. I harvest some Sitrus and Leppa Berries. I briefly wonder why it won't let me onto the Acro bike track and then press A to use the Devon Scope on a Kecleon. I run from it and cross to the other side.

Ninja Boy Hideo. Koffing. Shadow Claw. Koffing #2. Shadow Claw.
Turns out the other NPC isn't a trainer. I go past him for a Rare Candy. I think that's it for the waterfalls in this game.
I fly to Rustboro for a chat with Steven. I bump into a researcher being chased by a Team Aqua Grunt instead.
Team Aqua Grunt. Mightyena. Crunch drops Defense - Power-Up Punch. Golbat comes in. Air cutter or whatever that attack was faints Kecleon. I send Exploud in to Extrasensory it.

Another one comes charging out. Team Aqua Grunt. Muk. Extrasensory. It lives =O
Sure it ain't STAB, but it's also 11 levels lower. Iron Defense - Extrasensory.
Then another one shows up... Ugh, I'll just use a Max Revive then.
Team Aqua Grunt. Golbat... not yet then. Extrasensory. Sharpedo. Max Revive on Kecleon and Sharpedo Crunches. Boomburst.

I heal up at the PC and bench the HM bois for a little bit. I fly to Mossdeep. I put Wigglytuff in the lead and head for the space center.
Team Aqua Grunt x 5. Mightyena x 5. My Wigglytuff loves them Intimidates and it's Sp. Attack gets maxed out the wazoo. Dazzling Gleam deletes them all. :fufu:

I head upstairs for a double battle with Steven vs Team Aqua Grunt and Team Aqua Admin Matt. Mightyena & Sharpedo. Sharpedo Mega evolves and starts turn 1 of Skull Bash. Skarmory Steel Wings Mightyena. Mightyena uses Take Down. Dazzling Gleam faints it and sends Mega Sharpedo into yellow HP. Muk comes in.
Skull Bash - Aerial Ace? - Gunk Shot somehow 1 hits Wigglytuff. What. Crunch - Boomburst. Done. If Wigglytuff can't do it, Exploud can.
Zinnia barges in afterward acting on unsubstantiated assumptions while pretending like everything she says is fact. Such a loathsome person.

I leave and fly for Lilycove. I heal and need to bench someone to be able to access the Aqua hideout. I put Zangoose into the box for a bit. I head over to the Aqua hideout and barge in.
Team Aqua Grunt. Muk. Hyper Voice - Screech, which triggers Competitive. Hyper Voice. Carvanha comes in. Take Down misses - Dazzling Gleam.
Team Aqua Grunt. Golbat. Haze - Hyper Voice. Venoshock - Hyper Voice.

Team Aqua Grunt. Mightyena. Sucker Punch - Dazzling Gleam. Golbat comes in. Air Slash - Hyper Voice. Air Slash - Hyper Voice.
I run back for a free heal nap and then go deeper into the hideout.

Team Aqua Grunt. Mightyena. Taunt - Dazzling Gleam.
Team Aqua Grunt. Carvanha. Take Down - Dazzling Gleam. Muke comes in. Hyper Voice - Gunk Shot. Hyper Voice and it just barely lives. RIP Wigglytuff... yep, Gunk Shot. Dangit.
I send Exploud in. I Max Revive Wigglytuff. Gunk Shot lands again. 3 hits in a row with 80% accuracy. AI hax at it's finest again I see. Boomburst to end the fight.

I go to the teleporter maze and make my way through it. Zinnia steals more stuff and runs off again. Such a heinous criminal.
I get a Sharpedonite from Archie and Shelly. Steven calls me after the dialogue and wants to meet at the space center. Why. not. just. go. Sky. Pillar. Already. So many unnecessary detours in this. If the ending of the Delta Episode weren't so epic I probably wouldn't bother with this tbh.

I leave the hideout again. Can't fly there directly yet it seems.
I fly to Mossdeep to heal up and talk to Steven again. I then fly to Sootopolis. Sigh. So dang roundabout.
I talk to guy who thinks he's pretty but is really just vile. He tells me where Sky Pillar is. I already knew dingus.
I fly to Route 131 and then surf my way over to it. The girl is gone and Wallace is here now. What a downgrade. =P
The vile creep insists on a battle, showing his true colors!

Sootopolitan Wallace. Wailord. Well better hope Wigglytuff is somehow faster. Nope. Oh Water Spout did not do as much as expected. Charge Beam, but no raise. Heavy Slam - Charge Beam, and I get the raise, but Wiggly is almost down. I switch to Exploud. Water Spout does like 5 HP. Hyper Voice.
Milotic comes in. Boomburst - Hydro Pump misses for once. Boomburst. Whiscash. Boomburst. Gyarados comes in. Waterfall - Boomburst.
Tentacruel comes in. Sludge Wave - Boomburst. Ludicolo. Fake Out flinches. Boomburst. Exploud sweeping.
My HM Marshtomp evolves into Swampert after the fight.

The urchin leaves without even healing my party. Vile cretin, don't you know I'm about to fight 2 legendaries and a trainer?
I Hyper Potion Exploud and Wigglytuff and progress into the cave.
I spray a Super Repel before entering the actual tower. The criminal is here and chatters a bunch as I pursue her up the tower.
I detour as much as possible to get the items here and find a Dragon Scale and an Explosion TM.

We eventually end up at the top. The criminal knocks me out for some reason and it's morning. She finds out the hard way that she is deemed insignificant by Rayquaza and she has been wasting her time and everyone else's. It's nice seeing the smug know it all panic, finally realizing she dun goofed up.
Then the Meteorite I have starts flashing. Yep, without me you'd have failed miserably ms criminal, and doomed this world. Rayquaza eats the meteorite and mega evolves. I save before challenging it.

Rayquaza fight. Fly - Dazzling Gleam misses. Fly turn 2 - Dazzling Gleam. Ultra Ball almost catches it. Extreme Speed faints Wigglytuff.
I send Exploud in and pop an X Defense. Fly turn 1. One more X. Defense then. Fly crits and nearly faints Exploud. Of course it does. I Max Potion. Extreme Speed. Ultra Ball catches this time.
I send Swampert back to the PC to make place for it. Should be able to just leave here with Fly.
The criminal teaches Rayquaza Dragon Ascent. She then immediately challenges me, showing just how heinous she is. Dang it, I need to heal Wigglytuff.

Lorekeeper Zinnia. I try to Max Revive Wigglytuff, but when I check my team it got healed at some point. Okay.
I derp and click Dragon Pulse to laser Goodra when I should've switched to Wigglytuff. Oh well. I'm not reloading for that. Wiggly could've handled one more Dragon type anyway.
Tyrantrum comes in. Stone Edge misses. Dazzling Gleam lasers it. Altaria comes in. Moonblast lowers something and triggers Competetive - Ice Beam. Noivern comes in. Air Slash flinches. Air Slash - Ice Beam.
Salamence comes in and boost my Sp. Attack even more with Intimidate. I opt to heal, unsure if Wiggly can tank a hit. Salamence goes mega. Fire Fang crits. Oh that would've been no problem. Fire Fang - Ice Beam.
Should've beaten Goodra with Wigglytuff too... felt like a hassle. Technically already beat the game anyway. Could've reloaded, but would've had to catch Rayquaza again.

I get roped into dealing with the Meteorite now... I don't get to save right... nope.
On Rayquaza's back and into space. This moment here is just awesome. Best and most epic moment ever in Pokemon. Mega Ray smashes the meteorite to bits and Deoxys comes out. I first try a Quick Ball and it bursts out as expected. Cosmic Power. I just toss my Master Ball at it next. Not dealing with this now =P

I end up back at the top of Sky Pillar and Aster gives me a letter. I get to watch some scenes afterward and click through some dialogues. May shows why she's best girl again.
I end up back at home and go downstairs to receive an S.S. Ticket. Mom gives me a Latiosite. I exit and watch Birch run from a Shroomish in exchange for a Chikorita.

I fly to Mauville City and heal. I box Wigglytuff and Rayquaza and grab Swampert and Zangoose. I then box Exploud, Delcatty and Kecleon to grab my 3 grinding Linoones again. I go to the Mart and buy 32 Super Repels.
I head out onto Route 110 and save and quit. Time for one last shiny hunt and then it's the ferry stuff and rematching the E4.

---Session 65---

Starting search level of 8. DexNav keeps errorring. I burn through 3 Super Repels before getting just a single DexNav Magnemite encounter. I then try some more and waste 2 more Super Repels.
I then try to go for New Mauville. I Dexnav a couple and notice how speedy gonzales the every 5th one is. The normal ones are already annoying to catch. I raise my search level to 15 and then abort. Would be much easier to just shiny hunt this in SV.... I only wanted to hunt it because it was on the DexNav for Route 110 but apparently that's like bugged or something... idk.

So then... the ferries it is. I fly to Lilycove and heal up and then swap my team back in. I take the ferry to the Battle Resort... is there no trainer fights on the ferry? Or was that just when going between Slateport and Lilycove... oh well.
Wally shows up and I get to watch Team Magma be shoved aside by him lol
I get the Cameruptite. I run down the pier after the dialogue for a hidden Max Ether.

I get a little cutscene when I run toward the island. I head left of the PC and start talking to everyone.
Aroma Lady Carnation. Tangrowth. Swords Dance - Power Whip. It lives Crush Claw on 1 HP and uses Grassy Terrain. Return.
Victreebel comes in. Return. On to Jumpluff. Worry Seed - Return. Ludicolo. Return.

I check the stalls for the moves I can learn and find a HP Up hidden behind one of them. I continue around the island.
Rich Boy Antoin. Weezing. Return sends it into red HP. It mementos. Was gonna Swords Dance... but Toxicroak is next so I switch to Swellow. Aerial Ace.
Dragalge comes in. Return sends it into red HP. Dragon Pulse. Full Restore - Aerial Ace. Return. Crobat is next and I switch to Kecleon. Venoshock - Power-Up Punch. Hmm... that might've been a mistake actually. Air Slash misses - Shadow Claw. Guess it worked out. Not enough to 1 hit it though, it lived in red HP. Venoshock - Shadow Claw.

I hyper Potion my injured members and run to a house on the beach and go inside. I pick up a Calcium, HP Up, Iron, Zinc, Carbos, Protein and Gengarite. I exit and pick up a hidden Full Restore.
Fairy Tale Girl Josephine. Florges. Return. Whimsicott. Moonblast - Return. Slurpuff. Return. Granbull. Return - Play Rough. Would've killed without that Intimidate. One more Return is enough though.

I come across that detective wannabe and I tell him he's in Hoenn and some lady comes and drags him off.
I find a hidden Big Pearl. I come across an NPC that let's me change the music. I don't care. I talk to the Day care lad. I head inside and give a child 100 pokedollar and receive a Swagger TM.

I then go to the PC and talk to the people inside. The stat judge and nothing else of interest. I head up the next level and talk to someone standing on a battle court.
Poke Maniac Kelvin. Nidoqueen. Swords Dance - Body Slam and of course it gets the paralysis. I just Full Restore to counter hax with hax.
Chip Away. Return. Rhyperior comes in... even with the Swords Dance this will probably not do much... eh let's see. Return does over half and sends it into yellow HP. Rhyperior sends Zangoose into yellow HP with an attack. Return.
Garchomp comes in and I switch to Wigglytuff. Crunch - Dazzling Gleam. Dig - Dazzling Gleam misses. Dig - Dazzling Gleam.
Gastrodon comes in. Body Slam - Hyper Voice. Rain Dance - Dazzling Gleam. Body Slam paralyses - Dazzling Gleam.

I put Kecleon in the lead and heal my party. I then challenge the other guy.
Bug Maniac Felix. Pinsir. Thrash crits - Trick Room. Shadow Claw - Thrash can't hit me. Shadow Claw - Swords Dance. Shadow Claw.
Galvantula comes in. I click Dig and it Sucker Punches. Kecleon was already low due to the crit. Of course it has Sucker Punch, this is the people with convenient moves resort after all. I send Delcatty in. Discharge - Return. Sucker Punch infatuates it - Return.
Heracross comes in so I switch to Swellow. Aerial Ace. Crustle so I switch to Exploud. Flamethrower - Shell Smash. Rock Wrecker - Flamethrower.

I run up the hill and partake in the Whismur shows for a Big Mushroom. I come across some more houses. A woman gives me a Pomeg Berry.
In another house I trigger some dialogues with a Team Aqua and a Team Magma Grunt who shacked up. I re-enter the house to trigger some more dialogue. They want to give me a Camerupt and Sharpedo but my party is full.

I head for the pier and talk to the Spandex Trainers before going in a house. I talk to the detective wannabee for an Audinite.
I then head next door for a Footprint Ribbon for my shiny party members. The girl gives me a Level Release for my secret base.
I go to the PC to heal and put Swampert on my team to check the water. I surf around the island and then bench Swampert again.
I head for the Battle Maison. Sidney talks to me upon entry. I check the counter to see the cost for the Assault vest. 48BP.
I talk to everyone and then try a fight. If the BP don't take too long to get I'll try and get the Assault Vest. I'm not gonna bother if it takes long to accrue BP.

I enter Zangoose, Exploud, Delcatty and Swellow into a Double Battle.
Backpacker Pradeep. Skiploom and Duskull. Acrobatics - Night Slash - Flamethrower. They live and boost themselves with berries. Curse and Duskull faints. Boldore comes in. Acrobatics - Crush Claw drops Boldore's Defense and Zangoose takes Rocky Helmet damage - Flamethrower faints Skiploom. Omanyte comes in.
Return - Hyper Voice. Brine faints Zangoose. Smack Down faints Exploud. Return almost faints Omanyte, which somehow lives on 1HP. Wake-Up Slap faints Boldore. Omanyte Shell Smashes. You're not outspeeding Swellow though... right? Nope. Aerial Ace to finish that 1HP off.

Now how much BP do I get for suffering through that rubbish... 1 BP? Hah, no. I'm not doing another 47 battles. I leave the Battle Maison. I head back to the Ferry and head for Slateport. Upon arrival I take the ferry to Lilycove.... So it is only between Lilycove and Slateport then.

I run into the nearest cabin. Gentleman Tucker. Rapidash. Bounce - Trick Room. Dig - Bounce. Dig. Zebstrika comes in. Dig - Agility. Dig.
I check the cabin underneath. I get an Embargo TM. I check the cabin to the left.
Gentleman Thomas. Braviary. That's an unfortunate matchup. Normal/Flying really cripples my Kecleon. I switch to Exploud. Crush Claw and it gets the Defense drop. Boomburst.

I head for the upper middle cabin. Rich Boy Garret. Furfrou. Charm - Power-Up Punch. Cotton Guard - Power-Up Punch. Cotton Guard - Power-Up Punch. Full Restore... you monster. Power-Up Punch. Take Down - Power-Up Punch crits and ends it.

I come across Briney and Drake as I head left. I talk to Briney after Drake runs off and enter the next cabin. Empty, must be mine so I nap. I head to the cabin beneath.
Lady Anette. Persian. Fake out incoming.... or not. Power Gem =O
Trick Room. Power-Up Punch.

I head to the next room over. Poke Fan Colton. Delcatty =(
Assist into Play Rough which misses - Trick Room. Power-Up Punch. Another Delcatty... are all 3 Delcatty? Power-Up Punch.
yep, Delcatty #3. Power-Up Punch. Why do you make me hurt the kitty, Game Freak? :sadwick:

On to the final room. Young Couple Lea and Jed. Miltank and Tauros. Return faints Tauros. Captivate - Power-Up Punch. Return faints it despite the Captivate.
I head for the front of the ship to talk to people and find the Blastoisinite. Nothing special for the Drake interaction... missed opportunity. I run back inside and go downstairs.

Some dude from Unova gives me the Sharp Beak... could've used that a long time ago. Useless now.
Sailor Phillip. Qwilfish. Aqua Tail - Shadow Claw. Machamp comes in... that's quite the upgrade from Qwilfish lol
Dual Chop - Shadow Claw. It barely lives. Bulk up - Shadow Claw.

I find a Leftovers in a corner.
Sailor Leonard. Floatzel. Aqua Tail - Shadow Claw. Pelipper is next and I switch to Wigglytuff due to Kecleon being low. Charge Beam.

I head back upstairs and talk to the sailor near the exit to leave again. I then fly to the Pokemon League.
Would've loved to have that Assault Vest, but it ain't worth the effort. Let's see... my team's level 68-70. What's the Elite Four rematch levels again... highest is level 79 on Metagross. I'm swimming in Exp. candies.... 26, maybe not swimming.... Well that's not gonna be enough to get everyone to level 79. Thought I'd have enough, but alas.

I heal at the PC and then head for Sky Pillar... could also go faint some legendary Pokemon for Exp I guess.... hmmm... well this is the place with the highest level wild Pokemon iirc. I put Swellow in the lead and enter. Level 45 Golbat, already better than Victory Road.
Well this is gonna take a bit. Need to get my team up a bit before I can spam Rare Candies.
Whenever a Claydol shows I try to Quick Ball it. One goes in eventually.
I then do the same with Ariados.

I grind my team up so that everyone is at least level 73. Then I shove Rare Candies down my team's throats till everyone is 79, using up all the Rare Candies I had.

I go to Mauville City and heal up at the PC before going to the condos to visit the ribbon girl. She gives my party the Alert Ribbon.
I save next to her. Might as well grab another Ribbon tomorrow before going to challenge the E4 for the rematch.

---Session 66---

I talk to the girl and get a Shock Ribbon. I then exit and fly to the Pokemon league.
I put Kecleon into the lead and enter. E4 rematch time.

Elite Four Sidney. Scrafty's Intimidate lowers Kecleon's Attack. Brick Break - Trick Room. Power-Up Punch - Crunch. Power-Up Punch.
Mandibuzz comes in... Power-Up Punch - Brave Bird. Probably dead. Yeah... was wondering what it knew. I send in Wigglytuff. I Max Revive Kecleon so it can have Exp. It Brave Birds again. Wigglytuff just doesn't give a dang though apparently lol... that did like 70 damage out of 330. Tailwind - Dazzling Gleam.
Sharpedo... that's not his mega right? Poison Fang badly poison like usual. It's somehow guaranteed on the NPC teams. Dazzling Gleam faints it.
Shiftry comes in. Fake Out for the flinch as usual. Leaf Blade crits because of course it does - Trick Room. Power-Up Punch and it lives on 1HP. Feint Attack. Full Restore. Power-Up Punch.
Absol comes in. Ah that's his mega I think... or not. Power-Up Punch. Ah no, it's Zoroark pretending to be Absol. Absol comes in next and Megas and Power-up Punch 1 hits it.

I heal up Wigglytuff and Kecleon. I put Zangoose into the lead.

Elite Four Phoebe. Let's not be greedy this time. Only 1 Swords Dance. Swords Dance - Psychic. Why Psychic ? =O
Night Slash faints it. Mismagius comes in. Thunderbolt - Night Slash. Drifblim comes in... tanky... but it goes down to Night Slash too. Aftermath deals some damage and leaves Zangoose in yellow HP, close to red.
Chandelure comes in... I think I'm faster. Yes, Night Slash. Dusknoir is next... definitely faster... can I faint it in 1 hit though? Seems so.
Sableye comes in. Wait does she not have Banette as her mega? =O
It should be slower... might Sucker Punch though. Fake Out is not enough. Night Slash faints Mega Sableye next turn.

I heal up Zangoose. I put Exploud into the lead.

Elite Four Glacia. Abomasnow. Hail or Snow Warning I guess? Snow Warning. Flamethrower. Beartic comes in and avoids flamethrower and Brick Breaks. Does Beartic get Snow Cloak... I don't remember lol... next Flamethrower lands though.
Froslass comes in so I switch to Delcatty... that one definitely has Snow Cloak. Blizzard - Feint Attack. Feint Attack doesn't care about your accuracy hax =3
Blizzard then freezes solid, because it's AI so of course it does. Back to Exploud. Froslass lands blizzard and freezes solid while the hail is already down... double hax. I just use a Full Restore on Exploud. Blizzard then lands with no hail and freezes solid again. Look I got 34 Full Restores Glacia... idc how often you're gonna hax. I use another Full Restore and the AI suddenly realizes it's cheating too blatantly and sets up hail to cover their tracks.
Blizzard - Flamethrower misses. I Full Restore Delcatty. Draining Kiss. I then swap to Delcatty. Draining Kiss. Draining Kiss - Feint Attack. It somehow lives on 1 hp.... it did heal up quite a bit with Draining Kiss but still... Full Restore on Glacia's end now. Feint Attack. Hail - Feint Attack.
Walrein comes in. Return does about 60%. It Blizzards. Return faints it. Delcatty is low so I switch to Kecleon as Vanilluxe comes in.
Ice Beam - Trick Room.... might come back to bite me during Mega Glalie actually... oh well. Power-Up Punch sends it into red HP. Signal Beam. Full Restore. Power-Up Punch.
Glalie is next. It Mega evolves of course. It Protects... why though? Power-Up Punch faints it next turn... wondered if it had Moody for a second.

The Blizzard and Freeze Hax was real... why is it always that way with Glacia. Ugh.
I heal up my party and put Wigglytuff into the lead.

Elite Four Drake. Altaria. Cotton Guard - Charge Beam and I don't get the raise. Idc about your Defense lol. Aerial Ace - Charge Beam and I do get the raise. Aerial Ace - Ice Beam crits. x 4 effective though... probably didn't matter.
Dragalge comes in. Figured he'd have a Poison or Steel type. Sludge wave sends me into yellow HP and poisons Wigglytuff. Dazzling Gleam sends it into yellow HP. I send Swellow in. Hydro Pump, which misses. I Full Restore Wigglytuff. Thunderbolt. Return.
Kingdra comes in and I switch back to Wigglytuff. Yawn - Charge Beam and I get the raise. Ah right... that's what this thing did. Yawn fails and Charge Beam gets me the raise again. Surf - asleep. Surf - asleep. Surf - Dazzling Gleam. Dang... was counting on another sleep turn tbh.
Flygon comes in. Max Potion. Boomburst. Interesting. That wouldn't have been enough. Was expecting Earthquake. Boomburst again. Ice Beam.
Haxorus. No idea what this has. Earthquake... why is Haxorus Earthquaking but not Flygon? Dazzling Gleam.
Salamence, time for the mega. Intimidate triggers competitive. Hopefully I'll live it's attack. Not entirely sure. It mega evolves and goes for... Zen Headbutt? Weird choice. Wigglytuff lives it and Ice Beam faints it.

I heal up and put... Exploud into the lead, I guess?

Champion Steven. Skarmory. Flamethrower into Sturdy - Spikes. Full Restore - Flamethrower into Sturdy. Flamethrower.
Aggron comes in. Flamethrower into... no it just lived on a couple HP lol. Iron Tail drops my Defense. Always guaranteed cuz NPC. Flamethrower.
Carbink comes in and I switch to Kecleon... I don't even remember him having one. Probably slower than me so I'll skip Trick Room. Huh no, it's faster. Moonblast - Power-Up Punch. Moonblast drops Sp. Attack - Trick Room. Power-Up Punch - Moonblast. Unfortunate... was hoping it would use something else due to me being Psychic type... might only have 1 attacking move lol. Should've gone Dig after all.
I send in Delcatty. I max Revive Kecleon. Time to do some cheesing for the lulz
X. Sp. Def - Moonblast. X. Sp. Def - Moonblast. It drops Special Attack. X Defense - Moonblast. Hyper Potion - Moonblast. X Defense - Moonblast. X Defense - Moonblast drops Sp. attack. X Defense - Moonblast drops Sp. attack. X. Sp. Def - Moonblast drop Special Attack again lmao. Seems to be guaranteed for it now. Fortunately Delcatty isn't a special attacker. Hyper Potion. Moonblast.
X Attack - Moonblast x 3. 1 Sp. Attack drop. I then pop a Dire Hit for good measure. Power Gem. Hyper Potion for one last heal. Pity I never bought X Speeds. Psychic.
Wake-Up Slap faints it. Claydol comes in. Feint Attack crits, not sure if it mattered. Aerodactyl comes in. Rock Slide flinches me. Rock Slide - Wake-Up Slap crits.
Metagross. Time for the big bad final boss of his team. It'll mega but I got a roided up kitty =3
Meteor Mash raises it's attack - Feint Attack.

Seeing Delcatty 1 shot a Mega Metagross is so hecking satisfying... probably went overkill on the X items though
I get a Metagrossite from Steven. I listen to some more blabbering and enter the Hall of Fame again.

I exit the house upon loading back in afterward and watch a Machoke chase Birch. I then get a Snivy.
Playthrough wise everything is done now. Just gonna have to go do Hyper and Master Rank contests now.

Let's focus on Delcatty's Cute and Beauty contests for now. I fly to Fallarbor for the move reminder.
What... I could've sworn I had it know Captivate for a little while... it won't let me reteach it :sadwick:
I use the Facade TM to teach Delcatty it. I have it forget Feint Attack. Got 3 cute moves now. Return. Facade. Play Rough. facade is only 2 hearts but works great if going last. Might come in handy. Play Rough is 3 hearts and Return is 4 hearts. Would've preferred Captivate but the game decided to bone me there. Fake Tears and Snore are also 4 heart moves. Could potentially get Snore for 4 BP, which isn't super bad. Let's see if we can make it through like this first though. Would highly prefer not to grind for BP.
I enter the nearby contest hall and have Delcatty hold the Pink Scarf.

Hyper Rank Cuteness contest.
The opponents are... Magikarp, Lombre and Wailmer. I start in first.
Turn 1: Return.
Turn 2: Play Rough. Started in 2nd now.
Turn 3: Return. Started in 1st again.
Turn 4: Play Rough. Still in first.
Turn 5: I use Wake-Up Slap just to deny the Pokemon in second the crowd bonus.

I get called to the green room again. I wait for the dialogue to end and go to the move reminder. I have it teach Delcatty Attract.
Really need something I can use turn 1 if I already used Return. Disarming Voice would be better, but I can't reteach it.
Attract unnerves the waiting Pokemon which could be good. I have it forget Wake-Up Slap and head back to the contest hall.
Taught it Facade instead int he end.

Master Rank Cuteness contest.
The opponents are Illumise, Delcatty and Pichu. No Lisia? =O
Turn 1: Return.
Turn 2: Play Rough. Started in 2nd.
Turn 3: Return. In first, but the jerk after me caused me to lose hearts.
Turn 4: Facade. I'm in 4th now. Might as well try to make use of it. Pichu unnerved the Delcatty before me allowing me to snag the crowd bonus in it's stead.
Turn 5: Return. Back in first.

I get a Ribbon for beating the Master Rank Cuteness contest and then have to go to the green room again. Lisia congratulates me and runs off. The museum director shows up and show me Aristocats picture on the wall. So cute

Anyway... back to Beauty now... Icy Wind is 4 hearts... it's unfortunately 12 BP. Flash and Water Pulse are 3 hearts and have the same effects. I Teach Delcatty Rain Dance over Attract. Works better the more the crows is excited. Should be a huge hit if I get to make the final excitement level. Round can be a huge score if the Pokemon before me also uses a Beauty move. Should just teach it I guess. Round over Facade. I then teach Flash over Return. Can reteach Return at any point. Not sure I can win Master Rank with this tbh.
Crap forgot to switch scarves.... might still be enough for Hyper Rank I guess.

Hyper Rank Beauty contest.
The opponents are... Camerupt, Nuzleaf and Seaking... wth are they doing in a Beauty contest lol
Turn 1: Flash. So many startle shenanigans.
Turn 2: Rain dance. Risky. In 3rd. If both before me use a Beauty move I should get a high pay out though. Neither did. Jerks.
Turn 3: Flash. Still in 3rd.
Turn 4: Round. 3rd still. Failed attempt. Not the same type as the mon before me.
Turn 5: Rain Dance... which will give the one in second the crowd bonus probably. really need the hearts though. Explosion + crowd bonus. Probably gave him the win with Delcatty not holding the Blue Scarf. :sadwick:

It's close but I somehow still won. Wth 0.0
Rain Dance appears to be part of a combo with several moves, amongst which the only one Delcatty can learn is Thunder. Thunder is Cool type though =O
I teach Thunder over Play Rough. I have Delcatty hold the Blue Scarf. Let's see if the combination is worth not using the right contest type move.

Master Rank Beauty contest.
The opponents are Wobbuffet, Gorebyss and Machoke.
Turn 1: Flash.
Turn 2: Rain Dance. Gorebyss yoinks the crowd attention and keeps it at 4 hearts.
Turn 3: Thunder. The dang Wobuffet gets the crowd excitement bonus now. I clicked Thunder already expecting not to get it. Combo only gets me 4 hearts total. Not worth it imo.
Turn 4: Flash. Dang it Round would've been better.
Turn 5: Round. Second. The one in first is guaranteed to use a Beauty move as it's at 4 stars for the bonus.

Somehow still won that... er... okay? @_@
I get the Beauty Master Ribbon. All right who next... Exploud was Tough and Cool right... I give Exploud the Red Scarf.
Gonna keep Boomburst as it's a high appeal cannon move I'm best off using on the last turn. Wait that's for Tough... need to avoid forgetting it then. It's 2 cool moves kinda suck. Well all 3 elemental fangs are 4 heart moves. Could also do some Roar - Howl shenanigans. Get myself to last place in the round, then use a move that works great in last place. Might miss the crowd bonuses trying to stick to that though. I teach it howl and Ice Fang and Hyper Beam, which is like Boomburst, but Cool type.

Hyper Rank Coolness contest.
The opponents are Nuzleaf, Seaking and Swellow.
Turn 1: Ice Fang.
Turn 2: Howl. 2nd so no other choice.
Turn 3: Ice Fang. actually in last now... no other choice though. Probably not worth repeating it.
Turn 4: Howl. In 2nd.
Turn 5: Hyper Beam. In last and last turn.

Still won that @_@
I don't think howl is worth it. I teach it Fire Fang over it.

Master Rank Coolness contest.
The opponents are Gyarados, Heracross and Electrode.
Turn 1: Ice Fang.
Turn 2: Fire Fang. Started in 2nd.
Turn 3: Ice Fang. Started in 3rd.
Turn 4: Fire Fang. Started in 1st and got the crowd bonus.
Turn 5: Hyper Beam. Wish I wasn't in 1st for this turn. Could have them leap up. Ended up in negative hearts so Gyarados probably used the same move. The jerk.

Still won. Is it me or are these contests easier than in gen 3. I get the Coolness Master ribbon.
For Toughness... Pound and Stomp are 4 hearts. I'll just reteach those. I see some people on the way out and accept their gifts... completely forgot about them on the previous wins here lol

I switch Exploud's Red Scarf for the Yellow Scarf.

Hyper Rank Toughness contest.
The opponents are Magikarp. Lairon and Machop.
Turn 1: Pound.
Turn 2: Stomp. I'm in second now.
Turn 3: Pound. Back in first.
Turn 4: Stomp.
Turn 5: Boomburst. In third now.

Master Rank Toughness contest.
The opponents are Gyarados, Heracross and Sharpedo.
Turn 1: Pound.
Turn 2: Stomp.
Turn 3: Pound. In third now.
Turn 4: Stomp. Back in first.
Turn 5: Boomburst. In third again.

Toughness Master ribbon. Someone's waiting for me again? Chaz gives me a Paralyze Heal, Moomoo Milk and Wiki Berry after doing some bragging.

I think I did Clever with Kecleon... but why not use a shiny Kecleon instead... let's see if I have the berries to get one of my shiny Kecleons' Clever stat up. I grab the highest one as it can relearn the most moves. I manage to max it's Cleverness. I give it the Green Scarf to hold. Shadow Ball is it's only 4 heart move it seems. It already knows Sucker Punch which is gonna be great if it goes first. Toxic is 3 hearts and brings down the energy of Pokemon before me. As good a 3 heart move as I'll get then I guess.

Was expecting to have to start in Normal Rank, but I can just start my shiny Kecleon in Hyper Rank =O
Guess just beating a rank once in a category is enough to enter it with anyone? =O

Hyper Rank Cleverness contest.
The opponents are Lombre, Lunatone and Mightyena.
Turn 1: Sucker Punch.
Turn 2: Shadow Ball.
Turn 3: Sucker Punch.
Turn 4: Shadow Ball.
Turn 5: Toxic. Suddenly in 3rd, might as well be an ass about it :devilish:

Master Rank Cleverness contest.
The opponents are Luvdisc, Sharpedo and Dusclops.
Turn 1: Sucker Punch. Jeez so much leaping up jerk attacks.
Turn 2: Toxic. In third, gonna give them a taste of their own medicine.
Turn 3: Sucker Punch.
Turn 4: Shadow Ball.
Turn 5: Toxic. In third again.

Pretty easy win. Cleverness Master Ribbon. Lisia calls me to the green room. Could you people leave me be already.... I just wanna complete some contests... ugh.

After the chat I decide Wigglytuff should have one of the contest ribbons too... none of them really fit Wigglytuff though... Beauty? Cute? Clever? Cool? Nah, none of those fit at all.
I choose Tough as at least that one sorta fits. It's a fairly tanky Pokemon.... also has tuff in the name.
I teach it Strength via HM. 4 heart move. I also go to the move reminder for Double Edge, accepting more offerings on the way out.
I teach it Incinerate as well. I make a bunch of Pokeblocks again and have it hold the Yellow Scarf.
I'll do the contest next session though.

---Session 67---

Let's see... yep I can just straight up enter Master Rank toughness with Wigglytuff. Ngl, kinda nice to not have to grind individual mons up every single rank.

Master Rank Toughness contest attempt 1.
The opponents are Slaking, Heracross and Altaria. Lisia shows up huh.
Turn 1: Incinerate. Starting in second huh =O
Turn 2: Strength. Kinda wanted to use Double Edge. Not sure what Slaking has though. I'm in 3rd. Looks like I could've.
Turn 3: Incinerate. Second again. At least I steal the crowd bonus from Lisia.
Turn 4: Double-Edge. Risky. I'm in second. Expecting Slaking to go Bulk Up. Lisia shouldn't be able to move this turn.
Turn 5: Strength. Second again, dang it. Slaking gonna nab the crowd bonus. I think this annoying Slaking is gonna win lol

I just barely finish behind Lisia. Wth even.

Master Rank Toughness contest attempt 2.
The opponents are Heracross, Sharpedo and Altaria. Again? I just want the dang ribbon. Go away Lisia, you're making this harder than it needs to be.
Turn 1: Strength. Starting in second.
Turn 2: Double-Edge. In third now. Annoying as heck jamming moves.... kinda wanna be in the back I feel like.
Turn 3: Strength.
Turn 4: Incinerate. Back in first.
Turn 5: Strength. In second... Double-Edge is gonna have me leap up.

I lose again... why does she have more in the appeal round. I got Toughness maxed @_@
Got the Yellow Scarf equipped too. Should be tied. I feed it a bunch of Pokeblocks for the surrounding contest stats. Let's see if this is closer.

Master Rank Toughness contest attempt 3.
The opponents are Dusclops, Slaking and Altaria.
Turn 1: Incinerate. Starting in first. Seems to have helped.
Turn 2: Double-Edge. In last, but at least Altaria doesn't get the crow bonus.
Turn 3: Strength.
Turn 4: Incinerate. Wanna Double-Edge, but Altaria is being an ass and will probably make me leap up again. She doesn't.
Turn 5: Double-Edge.

Lost again... third time now. But the blue bar is the same now for both of us. Why the heck do the contest stats you're not participating in matter?
In that case Wigglytuff can wait.

I'm gonna pull out Delcatty first. Time to max all of it's contest stats and see if Lisia goes away if I beat her. My love for Delcatty compels me to try and win each contest with it anyway. =P
My main goal was to complete each contest type on Master Rank. Done that. Wanted each shiny of my party to have at least 1 contest ribbon: WIP for Wigglytuff, but done otherwise. Final objective: get each type Master Rank ribbon on delcatty.

Let's try Cleverness with Delcatty first. I teach it Calm Mind, Secret Power and Shadow Ball via TM.

Master Rank Cleverness contest.
The opponents are Luvdisc, Dusclops and Altaria.
Turn 1: Calm Mind to pump Delcatty up.
Turn 2: Secret Power for the combo.
Turn 3: Calm Mind to pump up further and snag that crowd combo away from Altaria. Back in first, but probably gonna get attacked. Yep, by Dusclops.
Turn 4: Secret Power.
Turn 5: Shadow Ball... I guess. Secret Power is one more, but won't get the crowd excited so it cancels out. Calm Mind is too few hearts. Dusclops makes me leap up hearts again, but at least Lisia is affected too.

The blue bar is bigger than Lisia's and I beat her by quite a bit. So basically you gotta max all contest stats to even be able beat her... annoying. Coolness is next after a chat with Lisia. Will you stop showing up now please? Would've already won with Wiggly if not for you. I get a Max Repel, Kelpsy Berry and Lucarionite. Lisia gives me a Star Light for my base.

Let's see... Double Team for Cool type pumping up. Thunderbolt is a solid 4 heart move. I fly to Lilycove to buy Hyperbeam and Giga Impact. Strong laser for if I'm in last.

Master Rank Coolness contest.
The opponents are Slaking, Heracross and Altaria... again. Is she just in every Master rank contest now? Please just go away =P
Turn 1: Double Team.
Turn 2: Thunderbolt.
Turn 3: Double Team.
Turn 4: Thunderbolt.
Turn 5: Hyper Beam. Turn 5 so I'ma firing mah lazah. 3rd in line anyway. Might be good for me. Made Altaria leap up after getting the crowd bonus. Nice... might not be enough though.

Sweet I win, though not by much. I start shoving PokeBlocks into Wigglytuff now. Need to have her beat the Tough contest first so all the pictures on the wall are Delcatty =3
I teach Double Team to Wigglytuff. Might be worth it just to have a pumping move even if it isn't of the right type. I then teach it Power-Up Punch which is the correct type and works well when pumped up. I teach it over Incinerate.

Master Rank Toughness contest attempt 4 for Wigglytuff.
The opponents are Sharpedo, Dusclops and Altaria... ffs, go away. You're making this harder than it needs to be.
Turn 1: Double Team. Wrong type, but it pumps up Wigglytuff. Only pumped up move it has. Ever single one of the jerks goes for jamming moves and I end up with -4 hearts.
Turn 2: Double-Edge. Last in line, might as well. Jerk Altaria gets the crowd bonus. Double-Edge doesn't jam. That Sharpedo should've had the bonus but didn't use a Tough move. I call sus.
Turn 3: Double Team. In second.
Turn 4: Double-Edge. Last in line. At least Altaria can't get the crowd bonus. Sharpedo gets it in front of me, or I do. Yeah it gets it. Better him than Altaria.
Turn 5: Power-Up Punch. First in line, probably gonna get jammed. I lose half my hearts.

Wigglytuff ends up winning by quite a margin. =O
Time to swap the Yellow Ribbon onto Delcatty and prepare it's Tough contest moves... Giga Impact for a last turn laser perhaps. Payback works great if going last, might be okay. Wild Charge is like Double-Edge. Don't have Wild Charge, appears to be in the Safari Zone.
Rock Smash is a 4 heart move. As is Strength.

I keep Double Team on it for pumping up. No Tough moves that are good when pumped up though... might not be worth it then. I teach it Strength, Rock Smash and Giga Impact. I then opt for Payback over Double Team.... or not. Don't have it. It's on a specific Mirage Island apparently. Guess I'll keep the pumping move then.

Master Rank Toughness contest.
The opponents are Sharpedo, Gyarados and Heracross. No Altaria... is she only guaranteed for the first time doing every Mast rank after beating them all once? Sweet.
Turn 1: Double Team. So much jamming. Dead least afterward? Yep.
Turn 2: Rock Smash. In 4th. I somehow end up with the crowd bonus.
Turn 3: Strength. In first.
Turn 4: Double Team. Still in first. Hoping to go last now next turn so I can Giga Impact.
Turn 5: Giga Impact. Third in line, but it will do.

Oh yeah.... No Lisia, so it's not even close for the npc's lol
I get a bonus ribbon on Delcatty for beating all the Master ranks =O
Done with the contests now. Let's go check in with that club of nuts in Lilycove. Should check in with the museum too.

I fly to Lilycove and head to the contest fanclub or whatever it's called. I enter and everyone exclamation marks on me.
I talk to them all and head for the museum. Room for 3 painting per category it seems. I'm not gonna bother filling the empty spaces.
I fly off to Mauville and talk to Ribbon girl for a new ribbon. I go to the ribbon shop and buy the Gorgous and Royal Ribbons.

I noticed the girl in the same room as the ribbon girl gives a ribbon for max Amie affection so I play with Delcatty for a bit to max out it's last heart =3
Then I go to Exploud, which needs 1 Heart as well. Wigglytuff needs 2 hearts. I keep switching between both until they are maxed out while also doing the below.

I then fly off to Rustboro to start rebattling trainers. Two rich folk between here and Petalburg. I'm not gonna comment on everything as I need to grind to 999.999 PokeDollars. Ugh. First trainer reminds me that my party is partially crippled by moves that are good in contests, but not so much in battle. I switch to Swellow for the lead as it's unaffected by this. Forgot to equip the Amulet Coin/Luck Incense for my 1st fight though. 752... not worth it even with the Amulet Coin, I'll just stick to the rich people I guess.

I beat the rich lady's Linoone and Pyroar female for 11.760.
Rich Boy Winston's Linoone and Pyroar male for 11.760.
Gentleman Walter's Manectric and Stoutland for 20.000
Rich Boy Antoin's Weezing, Toxicroak, Dragalge and Crobat for 14.400.
... was gonna check on Old Couple John & Jay as it should be like 18.000... didn't have anyone with Surf + Waterfall with me. also needs Super Repels to access. Takes too long probably despite the good pay out.
Walter's near Lilycove and Antoin is at the resort. The old couple is in Meteor falls. I talked tot an old woman in Meteor Falls for a Salamencite.

I reteach Extrasensory and Hyper Voice at the move reminder and then Flamethrower via TM. I teach Ice Beam and Dazzling Gleam to Wigglytuff via TM again. I head to Lilycove to forget the HM's I needed for contests. I fly to Mauville to swap to the Mach Bike so I can hit up the wealthy trainers faster.... oh he just gives me the 2nd one now.

I reteach Delcatty Return and Wigglytuff Charge Beam. Can't have it relearn Hyper Voice or reteach Delcatty Feint attack or Wake-Up Slap :sadwick:
I teach Delcatty Calm Mind and Wigglytuff Hidden Power. Kinda wanna forget Double Team on Delcatty, as well as Giga Impact... but I'll keep it I guess... don't really have better TM's.

I fly to Mauville and talk to the guy in front of the map until he leaves. I leave and re-enter and do this till I've done all of them.
One of them trades me a Duskull Doll for a Potion and then a Tire as well.

Once I've done all of them I go to Mauville apartments and I find the balding dudes and talk to them. I go to the apartment across from them and talk to the guy there. He comes over and they surround him and the screens fades to black and one of them disappears... and then again and again, until they all become one. Mr Bonding is summoned from the void born.

I activate the prize money o power and refight the gentleman who gives you 20.000... and get 15.000 .... forgot to give Exploud the Amulet Coin after swapping it into the lead. Would've been either 25.000 or 30.000 I think.
I do the Rich folk again, but the one at the resort won't fight me yet... and then go fight the E4.

Forgot to replenish the prize money o-power for Phoebe. When I get to Glacia I teach Exploud Sunny Day. Let's mess with their ice shall we :sneaky:
Froslass gets to set Hail back up and it means Exploud's HP gets too low to beat Walrein after setting the sun back up. Also hitting all their Blizzards again despite no hail. I send Swellow in to finish the job with Metronome boosted Scrappy Return. Mega Glalie faints it... not sure what happened on turn 1... both sides were at full HP despite me using Return.
I have to sit and wait for a bit for the o-power to be usable again for Drake so I play in Amie again.

I get both Exploud and Wigglytuff's hearts maxed out in Amie and then fight Drake with the money o-power active.
I watch Exploud expel Toxic Poison through the power of love in the steven fight. Never maxed that stuff for a reason lol
31.600 from steven... forgot the o-power didn't I.... sigh.
I watch Birch get chased by his wife and get a Turtwig after the credits roll again.

Started off almost broke... 105 short of 330k now. I think I shouldn't use the o-power for those 2 rich people, but should use it once for the gentleman that gives you like 20k. Beat him fast enough and I could get bonus money from the rich lady too.

Well anyway now we just repeat that a bunch of times.... the 3 rich folk followed by the E4. I sell off as much stuff that I no longer need as I can and end up at 705.625. Nice. I think 2 E4 runs with o-power active should be enough then. 47.400 for defeating Steven with the o-power active... that's more like it 0.0
Just under 900.000 Gonna overshoot if I do the E4 again, but so be it.
I had Delcatty take down Steven's Carbink, Claydol and Aerodactyl without any help at some point this run. Would be even better with a Metronome probably. 2 x Double Team and 2 x Calm Mind and then just keep shooting Return lol
I switch for Mega Metagross though. Wanna see if Zangoose can take it down. It can in 2 Night Slashes.

One final run then hopefully. I stopped using the o-powers after Phoebe thinking I could just hit 999.999 naturally from then. After Drake I see I'm over 1.000.000.... well in that case I'm using o-power again for Steven :woop:
After loading back in I head for Mauville to buy the really expensive ribbon. I then have to reload because Delcatty isn't in the lead lol
After buying it I buy the other 3 shinies in my party the cheapest one for 10.000. Would need another 300.000 to put the 100.000 ribbon on all 3. I'm not doing the 999.999 one again though.

I head to the apartments next. I get the Best Friends Ribbon for Exploud, Wigglytuff and Delcatty. Not sure about doing the same for Kecleon, kinda don't wanna. I still need 4 daily ribbons from the ribbon girl though... might do some stuff to kill time.

I got 16 ribbons on Delcatty now... any more I can get? =P
2 Ribbons related to the battle maison... not sure that's possible now that Delcatty's moveset is kinda crippled due to doing contests and a stingy move relearner. Defeat a battle maison head and defeat a battle maison head in super battles. Need a 20 win streak for the first. a 50 streak for the latter. Ugh. Might try the 20 one. I checked the 50 streak one... nothing but legendaries. Probably not winning that even if we get that far... kinda don't wanna go that far though.

Aside from those 2 there's a more doable ribbon: Training Ribbon. Need all gold medals on a Pokemon... didn't I already do that with someone... well Delcatty only has 3. Wigglytuff has 10. Exploud 3. Zangoose and swellow have 3 each, not that it matters for them. Not doing that with them. Kecleon would first need super training. I might do it if I have time left next, but I'll focus on the other 3 first. Let's try and wrap this session up with Wigglytuff getting them all... it's the one that's furthest along.

It's got all 6 of the Secret Super Training lv 1 gold medals. 4 out of 6 on Super Training level 1, missing Attack and Speed. I'll do those 2 first then. I get Gold Medals for both first try.
Next page then: Super Training level 2. I get Gold on all 6 of them first try, though the Aerodactyl one was a bit annoying to hit. Graveler has a barrier that had to be dealt with.

Super Training level 3 page shows up... wait how many are there 0.0
I go to the Secret Super Training Level 2 page first. Only 1 unlocked atm. I tackle them 1 by 1, earning Gold Medals. Kinda felt like I
wasn't doing too well on the first two of them, but hey if I get the medals that's all I need.
I'm not even close to the target time on the Scatterbug course. Zoned out thinking I beat it... then it evolved and I had to do 2 more fights. And the Vivillon took way too long. I get it on the second try.

Second row... Probopass... I fail miserably first time, even running out of time. I then use more charged shots and dodging second time around with a Strength Bag active and get the Gold Medal... least favorite course so far. 2 more left... ugh... the orange reticle showed up this time... never did first time... might need to be above a certain point threshold for that to happen I guess?
Next up the Hydreigon balloon. Another evolving one. Getting hit instantly drains your points it seems. Still get it first try.

Last one on the page is Tyranitar... another evolving one. I think I have it beat and then it goes into a Mega Tyranitar balloon... I get Gold Medal for it first try.
I head back to the Super Training Level 3 page. I complete all of them first try, though Dragalge was kinda annoying to hit.

No new pages show up so Wigglytuff is done. I'll do Delcatty next... next session.
30 total huh... not looking forward to doing Probopass again...
