So yeah I stumbled across this thing on reddit, and the main thing what it did, was explain that Malamar is overpowered by far.

A quick introduction: I am Aternox, where Ater and Nox mean dark and darkness respectively. The Pokémon I am raising all have dark as a type or subtype, and thus I wanted to try out Malamar for its funny types, psychic and dark if you wonder. however I couldn't get Inkay to evolve after so many levels that I gave up on evolving him, thinking I'd have to trade him or something. What also stood out was his attack stat, which was relatively quite high.

Now both Inkay and Malamar have an insanely strong ability: it reverses the effect of any stat change. Someone using tail whip on you? Thank them for increasing your defense. Swagger is kind of a problem though! But yeah that, and the Topsey-turvey move, which just does the exact same thing when you use it, but then for your opponent. Ancient power buffs? You mean debuffs.

Then I stumbled across this topic about Malamar stats. His attack stat was the highest of all stats. Weird. And he can learn Superpower. Wait, what? Superpower is a 120power 100accuracy 5pp move fighting type, which lowers your attack and defense afterwards. See the synergy? Just boost its pp and you got yourself the strongest Fighting-type Pokémon ever. Give him something that boosts Fighting type moves, and voilla!

That's all for now folks, just wanted to share.

P.S. Is it normal to catch Yveltal with the first ball you throw at him (a dusk ball in my case)?

Wait, you could catch the box legendary with anything 0_0 I wasted my Masterball for that. I could have used it on Mewtwo. (That recover is incredibly annoying)

Anyway, I think that Malamar is just a good Pokemon, not broken. I tthink broken would mean that literally nothing could stop it. Bug types rape it and like you said, moves like swagger can destroy it.
Another decent Pokemon that I found was Aegislash. You can swords dance all you want in its defense form, then just attack, and deal massive damage. The only real drawbacks are its four weaknesses(not that bad because of its incredibly high defense stats in defense form), and its speed. Its speed can kind of be countered by protect or kings shield as it will go back to defense form if I remember correctly. This means that it an take those hits really well and dish out tremendous damage at the same time. It's like having amazingly high attack and defense stats at the same time.

Malamar isn't really broken. Mine was sub par at best and overshadowed by my Dragalge and my Gogoat. I do have to hand it to GF for making Pokemon that can stand up to the Power creep introduced in Gen 5 while not being completely broken themselves.

I had to eventually box my Malamar. I'll use him more in Post game things such as Wifi Battles but his main attack pattern doesn't work well in the main game. You can abuse his Super Power + Contrary, yes, but roughly that's it on your own.
