Interesting analytical rant about Pokemon

Why do multiple people think that the coma was funny?

This creeped me out a lot, but that's what I get for reading stuff like this past my bedtime.

Now that I'm awake I think it's fascinating, but I can't say much about its credibility since I never watched past the first episode.
 
The coma and fabricating of Ash's world really couldn't have happened. You can't stay in a coma for 7 years just because you were hit by lightning. And the fabricating of everything in his world is too much for a ten year old to process.
 
Really? Our minds are much more complex than we think, I think. But this is meant to be a joke, you're not supposed to take it seriously haha. It's just poking fun at the anime series
 
Unfortunately this person's philosophical look at the show, I find to be over-analyzed...

Sure some points would appear to be right, but in it all, it's not very well thought out or researched...

For starters you'd have to look at Japanese culture, being this show is from Japan, a lot of their culture would carry over onto the show.

Secondly, Akums razor is probably your friend when it comes to a lot of these theories of his.

I do believe there is symbolism and such, but not to the extent of what the author wrote...

If ever I have the time, I'd write an essay on the philosophical topic of Ash's purpose or journey or what have you XD

Also bonus question to anyone who can answer correctly: What is the opposite of courageous?

its just meant for entertainment and draw attention to the immense possibilities in a persons mind--

to create all this from nothing.

Occam's Razor: the conclusion that is most likely to be correct is the one that requires the least amount of assumptions to support it. The chance of a theory being correct is inversely proportional to the amount of assumptions that support it.

Avoidant.

Courage implies both acknowledging the threat and choosing to fight it. Take the opposite of those components (not acknowledging the challenge, not choosing to fight) and you get avoidant (possibly denial).
 
Oooo close, what you're thinking of is cowardice, that, I believe is in the middle, while courageous is on one side, and the answer, on the other.

Heres a hint: Ash is guilty of this many times.

EDIT: Yes and Occam's rather, thanks for the correct spelling :) But that is the essential definition.

It wasn't entertaining. It's just too long to be a quick laugh. Maybe because it's so analytical that it recieves analytical judgement. Analytical . . . .

Looks like the first post in this thread proved your idea of jokes wrong, then :P Whether it's analytical or not, it's satire, the whole thing is just making fun of the Pokemon anime being simple and one dimensional.
