Internal Battery Dead?

Hey guys. A few days ago, I fished my Emerald out of my drawer so I could play it. It had been quite a while since I played, though, and when I started playing, at the main menu, it said that the internal battery was dead and that the game could be played, however, timed events would not occur. I've seen those before, and I'm not really worried. However, I want to restart my game, but my friend told me if I beat the Elite Four, my game would automatically delete and I would have to start all over. Is that true? I don't wanna restart if it means no being able to go to the Elite Four again.


Sorry for rambling, I'm just really worried. >_<

Your friend is just teasing you. The game wont delete all the data, except you will be able to go to the battle frontier and other things.

Yeah that message appears on a lot of roms I play. It should work normally though, except I never made it past the E4 on a rom, so I have no idea what happens. ._.
