Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself as this is my first post. I am happy I finally found a forum that is active and dedicated to Pokemon. I have been playing since Pokemon Red/Blue, and am now on HG/SS. Now, my question. So I have Feraligtor (35) as a lock in my starting lineup. I then have Machop (26) , Flaafy (21), Noctowl (20), Vulpix (13) (working him up.), and Onix (25) in my starting lineup. I like this lineup, but could also put in Gastly (18), Bellsprout (18), Geodude (24), Togepi (25), Electrode (23) and the Red Gyrados (30). I am currently on the 5th gym leader. Is this lineup good? Or should I change it up? What combination of these Pokemon do you believe is best? I am willing to level up any Pokemon.

Hi there! Welcome to the forum. You're also welcome to post a thread introducing yourself more in the New Users/Welcome section.

Anyways, as for your questions your current option is fine, although it may take a bit of time to train up that Vulpix (but you can trade that Red Scale for an exp share with Mr Pokemon). Note with Machop, Geodude and Gastly they cannot fully evolve without trading and trading back, so keep that in mind. Same with Onix to Steelix but you don't even get a Steel Coat without some luck until after the E4 anyways. Electrode is decent but weak defensively and doesn't have a very wide movepool compared to other Pokemon. Others are fine; each have some flaws but each would serve you well. Oh, and Gyarados' typing is already covered by Feraligatr and Noctowl so maybe that would also be a factor; ideally you'd want to avoid on doubling up on types.

Not much else one can say (what people like to use is subjective after all so what you should really go for is what you are interested in using; near anything will do with enough training) so I'll close this thread. If you have any other questions please ask them in the Help thread sticky at the top of the section.
