BANNERS:

Not my best banner, but I was testing out a new style at the time and I ultimately failed. x_x

SOTW 14 entry. I was working on that style I was working on in the last banner. I didn't do good on either of them. I got one vote off of it though. :D

This was my first splatter style banner. It turned out okay in my opinion.

I used my own drawing as my own theme this time around. It turned out okay. It probably would have looked nicer if I used a different render.

SOTW 15 entry. I liked how it turned out! Dunno how it would do in the SOTW though. :\

My attempt to do a CSS signature, until I learned I didn't know CSS. I liked how it turned out either way though.

So Inugami finally gets a gallery? =)

You've got some nice banners here. My favorite one would probably be the last one.
I have a few advice for you, I'm not gonna rate every banner on it's own, but I'm gonna try to keep it general, short and sweet ;D

The first thing that captures my attention in your banners [especially in the first two] is that there's too much going on. Sometimes simpler is better. A background doesn't need to be messy to look good.

Some banners, like the third one, lack flow. There's no uniform sense of motion in it. Try to keep flow in mind when your creating your background and adding foreground effects. But I do like your use of clipping masks, just try to keep it a bit simpler.

Text looks good in almost all of them. You seem to handle that pretty well ^^ unlike me

Depth is missing in basically all of them. I'm no good at achieving depth myself, but you should definitely find yourself a depth tutorial to familiarize yourself with it and try your best to achieve it...

You should also work on your blending. The third banner with the rough edges is screaming for blending ;D Also don't forget to sharpen your banner when you're done with it.


That's about it, really. I know you're a beginner, but I'm sure with time you'll get much better. Everyone's a beginner at one point. No need to remind you how bad I was not so long ago ;D
Just keep trying and keep getting people's opinions in the Graphics Rating Thread. If you want constructive criticism, that would be the place for you ^^

So, Inu-kun has a gallery? Hmm =3. They're a bit busy-ish, and sometimes it's okay to be a bit more simple, ne? They're quite good, though. Not bad.. Keep practicing, Inu-kun, and they'll be completely awesome in no time =)
