    Does anybody watch Iron Chef?

I always find it interesting when they get great chefs from all over the world and put them up against one of the three iron chefs, and there is always a special incredient that has to be used.

Guess what my opinion on Iron Chef is :P

Of course I love Iron Chef! It's my favorite show! My namesake for these forums is the great Chairman Takeshi Kaga, head of Gourmet Academy on the show. I love everything about the show...I'm obsessed with every aspect of it. My favorite Iron Chef has to be the great Hiroyuki Sakai...he's the most talented chef I've ever seen. I love all the drama...it almost doesn't seem like a show about cooking. There's so much I could say about the show, but I'll wait until more people post here.

Thanks for finally bringing this show up...it deserves some recognition ^____^

No problem I was going to mention this a few months back too XP.

And I love when sometimes they come with thier coaches and they get involved, there is always some sort of drama then XP.

Yeah...there's always extra tension when the chef's masters are there, especially if they've trained under such people as Toshiro Kandagawa, the archenemy of Kitchen Stadium (he was in the battle Lotus Root this past sunday. Anyone see him? He's incredibly skilled but incredibly antagonistic...)

Wow you really seem to know your Iron Chef XP, I can't blame you its a very entertaining show.

I remember where there was a merathon of them for like 7 or 9 hours straight.

I hear they used to have all-day marathons back in the day but I haven't seen any (I only got Food Network this past June) ... I do know that starting this monday they're going to air an episode every night at 11 P.M. to promote the new Iron Chef America: Battle of the Masters special (April 23, 24, 25) and that ought to be good...

I ramble too much about this XD

i dunno the story line seems pretty cool, i eman chefs around the world cometing!
    but then again that same idea can seem kind of...different..-_-;
all im saying is that there could be better than watching chefs battle, but yeah its a really cool show!

Cooking is just half of the show...if you notice, reputations are on the line every week, and it's a story about people battling against each other using a medium that no one's ever thought of before: food...usually towards the beginning and ending of the show there's a lot of conflict and suspense in a way that makes you forget it's a show about cooking and more like a show about upholding one's honor. It is actually a unique show, there aren't any other shows out there like it, so it's not just a rehashed idea as was said by one of you.

I agree you won't see much to any shows like Iron Chef, you can always just watch it in the middle or even towards the end, and still know whats going on.

Did anyone see the back-to-back Octopus battles last night? Those were AWESOME (except that Sakai-san lost his battle ;_; ) Those Octopi were still alive when they were announced as the theme ingredient :P It was creepy to see them hacked to bits and still be writing minutes after o.o Sakai was almost too disgusted to handle them...

In the first battle on Saturday, Iron Chef Masahiko Kobe defeated challenger Hiromichi Yoneda, and in the second match, Iron Chef Hiroyuki Sakai was defeated by challanger Tadamichi Ota.

hey when does the new iron chef america come on? it's going to be only 2 iron chefs though they will be fighting food channel iron chefs mario something and some other food channel chefs and alton bown will be hosting it.

Here's the information on Iron Chef America: Battle of the Masters:

It's going to air April 23 through April 25 and there are going to be lots of battles. The two original Iron Chefs that will be competing are Iron Chef Japanese Masaharu Morimoto and Iron Chef French Hiroyuki Sakai. The three "Iron Chefs" chosen by Food Network to compete with them are Mario Batali, Wolfgang Puck, and the incredibly arrogant Bobby Flay. Alton Brown will indeed be commentator.

I daresay Puck's the only American contender that has a chance of beating anyone...but then again, he is going against Sakai in one of his matches, so I think Puck may be in over his head in this one...

Yes Sakai is a great french style iron chef in the way he cooks, but you never know stranger things have happened when it comes to Challengers winning.

ya but the king has only ever been beaten once....anyone know there's a iron chef movie in the work's? it's gonna have kenichi and morimoto and it's about them training a new generation of iron chef's....oh well sound like it's manga counterpart...
