Is anything known about the Gen 3 GBA-to-GBA trading protocol?

The trading protocol for Generation 1 and 2 games has apparently been well-documented and understood, to such an extent that some people have managed to spoof gen 1 and 2 trades using a switch board and/or an Arduino. For example: https://www.adanscotney.com/2014/01/spoofing-pokemon-trades-with-stellaris.html

However, I have not been able to find anything about Generation 3 Pokémon trades. Is anything known about how a connection between two games is established, and (for example) for a trade is confirmed and executed?
