Is Feebas Worth Catching?

If you have Platinum you can just get a couple Dry Poffins (level: 32, smoothness: 20) at the Veilstone Department Store for $6400 each. They'll easily get you to high beauty.
 
Also it's easy enough to breed Feebas. Once you've found a spot that they appear on, you can catch as many as you want there.

Well, in what sense do you mean? For battling? Filling the Dex?

Battling:

A lot of people compare Milotic to Gyrados because of the pre-evolutions being similar (a useless, ugly fish). But really, they are very different when they evolve; totally opposed stats, actually: Gyrados is physical and is more offensive, while Milotic is special and is more defensive. Other than their matched types, there's no reason that you can't have both on your team. Especially if we're just talking about using it for the main game.

Dex Number:
If you find it irritating to catch and evolve, I'm sure you can find a Feebas pretty easy on GTS. As other people have said, you can buy dry poffins in platinum to evolve Feebas.

But really, I like the challenge of finding/catching feebas. However, I don't bother catching Feebas in Platinum anymore because the spots change every 24 hours. :/ In emerald, it doesn't change overnight, it depends on the "trendy saying" being changed (right?).

Anyway, doesn't matter. Just catch what you like! I like both of them.
 
I don't think milotic is useful in-game, because in-game is about power and type effectiveness, not tactics (well, except in the battle frontier). But it's dead useful on wifi.

So don't waste your time getting a feebas unless you need a milotic for competitive battle.

I say its worth catching and evolving. When you evolve it you have a rare pokemon known as milotic. Also its considered the most beautiful pokemon in the games so its really good in contests. So if your one who does alot of pokemon contests then i recommend it. Also alot of people would trade for a lv.100 milotic because they wouldnt want to spend the time getting a legit one.
