I'm trying to assemble my final team before I take on the E4, and I've been toying with the idea of keeping Gengar in my team -since I'm not a real Poke Expert, I wanted to get some opinions.

Gengar is an excellent pokemon, with a base Special Attack of 130, and base Speed of 110 you will be able to deal a load of damage while out-speeding most of the Elite Four. It's Levitate ability makes it immune to ground type moves, taking away it's Ground weakness.

Gengar also has a wide array of moves including Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Confuse Ray, Sludge Bomb, Energy Ball, Focus Blast, etc. Meaning it can counter many foes. Including those that deal Super-Effective Damage to Gengar.

In my opinion I would definitely have Gengar on my team.

Hmm, this pretty much said it all I would think.

Yeah, Gengar is a great choice to use in-game. Then again, so is everything else. Rule of thumb right now, use the Pokémon you like, train enough, and mix your variety in moves and you'll do fine. In-game Team Help threads aren't allowed as of right now though, so can't really keep this open.
