Depends on how worn. Official events won't let you use any that are more than slightly worn without having them in sleeves, as any more than slightly worn and they can be considered "Marked" cards. Among friends, it's up to the group to determine if a cards are too worn to allow a player to use them.

There is a limit. The limit isn't much past the limit for unsleeved cards, unfortunately, though just how far beyond is somewhat dependent on the judge. Usually, the limit is if it's a bent card or if it's written on in some way, shape, or form that is not from the official print, but sometimes it's less than that.

If you intend on playing, I'd avoid the whole "is it worn or not" issue by getting card sleeves like the ones Dragon Shield sells in packs of 100 and using them from the start.
