is it me, or is posting REALLY slow!!!

    I mean I can navigate though PokeCommunity Forums quite quickly with fast page loads, but when posting, the pages take forever to load!!! whether it is adding a new topic, replying to other topics, the before and after take forever, once I click on 'add reply' or 'new topic' takes forever to get to the text editor, and once I'm done typing, and I hit submit, that takes forever for the page to load also... but if I am just navigating around here, It's just fine.. is it just me, or is this a real problem?
     
    I totally agree! It's not like PC is very crowded and it isn't the best site so why is it loading so slowly? I don't know. I do agree, it is only when you try to post anything. It's getting too slow, and my pc is pretty new and runs everything else perfect. I'm about to rage quit if it gets too slow :D It's annoying. They need to fix this. It was perfect a few weeks ago.
     
    What browser are you using.
    I'm not experiencing anything slow on P.C except when my connection is slow.
    Which it is pretty often >_>

    Edit: Like Brittani said, it is slowest when you post, but it's not that slow.
    Also P. C is actually quite crowded sometimes
     
    It's not just you. At times the last week it has timed out on me a couple times. With the amount of members and guests we get at certain times of the day it tends to lag a bit.

    That reminds me.
    You didn't write how often it happens, so I assumed that it was just always slow for you.
    Anyways, if it's just right now, then it's probably because of all the people online atm.

    I'd disagree. Weeks ago it was fine. A few years ago, when I was much more active on this website, it was fine. Just a week or so it started up. I've never encountered such a slow loading when posting or navigating. It could be google chrome (the browser I'm using) But I doubt everyone that is complaining about this is using google chrome, and google chrome has worked fine with every other website. It's actually faster than any other browser I've tried. This is nothing compared to the other forums I go on, with many more members online at once, yet it's much more faster. That doesn't really make sense to me.
     
    One cause might be due to the server trying to double post, for some reason.
    This does cause it to be slower as it, not only tries to post two of the same, but then the flood control kicks in.

    The issue, I am sure, is being worked on.​

    Weeks ago it also had less traffic. PC sees a huge traffic spike in the summer months for the United States, since over half of its users are from the United States. The site admin also has a couple of his other sites on the same server iirc, and the server this is all on is at its limit. The staff cannot afford to buy a better server at the moment, so you'll have to deal with it.

    It could also have to do with a problem that's been occurring for several months now and your computer is just started to be affected by it because something in the way the browser you're using (not any specific browser, just the particular install on your computer) handles some of the code on the site, in which case, the staff have been working to find the cause of this problem. Which is the exact same problem Captain Fabio is talking about.
     
    I'm just going to add that it does take about a minute for my post to "complete". Its a bit slow, but it's not horrible...

    Cannot tell if sarcasm or simply heresay. ;o

    But yeah. I've actually noticed this. The site loads pretty fast, but posting feels very slow in comparison. Just thought I'd mention I've noticed this too.
     
    at any given time, there are more than a hundred members online, sometimes a thousand. So at the same moment your post is being processed, a lot of other members are posting, and their posts are being processed, so it's kinda natural for the posting process to be slow, cause PC isn't and individual server like FaceBook.
