Is it worth buying another 3DS for Pokegen?

Hi,

I recently brought myself a 3DS Action Replay power save and it did wonder for me. I am pretty much interested in game hacking as a whole, I always like to mod or do the things I want with game. At the same time, I brought my 3DS recently in april, I have a new 3DS with Operating System v.10+. No Pokegen or injection with this.

My question is, is it worth looking for and buying an old 3DS with older version of the OS?

I don't much see why you'd need another 3DS when you could just get the Homebrew Menu and patch the game with HANS. Not 100% sure exactly how Pokegen works, but rom dumping and patching has recently become something that any firmware can do given they have the games to make it work.

I Pokegen. I use an old DS to Pokegen B/W2. If I were you I'd look online for an old used DS or borrow one from a friend. I just found one on ebay selling for 18.99 with a slightly cracked screen, and a Lite in good condition for 30 dollars. :)

Again I wouldn't spend too much on an extra DS if you're only using it to Pokegen!
