(Admittedly this thread is a bit old.)
Probably not, after they've been doing their best to put it down for years. It's probably meant as more of a niche thing. But in either case, they probably realise that those games are most identified with the series, and drifting further away from such things, even with the re-makes, may have destabilised things a bit. In any case, people are unlikely to play fairly elaborate and long games like Red and Blue through for 'nostalgia,' unless they also like them. New releases in the genre are mostly tarred by an attempt at distancing from such things in terms of aesthetic, appeal and otherwise, and as such unlikely to catch on just because people liked those games.
