Hey... I was wondering if Pokemon games are getting a bit boring...? I mean Nintendo is just comes up with some random name of a stone and create a new game with new pokemon, new features, etc. and this seems like to go on forever....

I am not saying that pokemon games are boring but I wonder if it would ever become boring....?

    Rave

P.S. I think my wording and way of explaining things can be confusing... :tired:

I know what you mean, and I would have to agree with you. The adventures are really still the same as in RBY. GSC was good because it offered so many more features, yet when RuSa took many of these out, it went back to being RBY with a graphical update - much like FRLG. Hopefully, Diamond/Pearl should be some sort of relief from the 8 Gym Leader/Fill up PokeDex storyline that's been going on for the past 5 years... :/

There are those who believe in the idea that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", in otherwords they don't want to see much change. On the other hand, you have those who complain about everygame being the exact same, the only good gmaes where the first, etc. Then you have everyone else in between, which pretty much goes without saying.

As for me, it's extremely predictable, but it isn't necesarily boring. If anything at all I would say is boring, though, is that you're forced to become a Pokemon master of sorts. They should really allow you to choose a different path. Maybe make another option that plays like Harvest Moon (sorta RPGish, but without the need to battle), for example.

I agree with you on that 117%

You should be able to make certain in-game choices that will affect your destiny as a trainer. Implement KOTOR or Fable storyline elements to make the Pokemon games much less linear and more of your decisions forging the character's destiny...

I know what you mean. Like those haircutting salons and radio and my favourite: The Pokegear telephone ^^ I love getting phone calls in the game all the time while I'm playing the game these days when I'm not online and not studying.
I hope it isn't getting too predictable. And I agree with tmbjr and Kine, I would like to see certain in-game choices that will affect your destiny as a trainer too, it will give it more replay value.

I think that they sould change the battle interface... like those in Golden Sun or Final fantasy so that battles would not be too stiff? I mean... wouldnt it be cool if your pokemon's attacking turn is based on your recovery speed? (like those in Final Fantasy games)...

    Rave

The battling interface is what makes Pokemon... Pokemon! That's the game's signature element... so I don't think they'll be changing that for a looooooong time yet. I like the fighting system anyways. ^_^

Changing the battle style will be *THE LAST THING* gamefreak ever wants to do. If they want to do that, go start a new series not by the name of Pokemon please... and for those who thinks that the current battle style is completely inferior to FF or some other battling style, go on Netbattle and see just how truly complicated Pokemon really is.

Ingame changes? Sure... as long as the metagame isn't unbalanced because of it, then it's fine... also, Pokemon will always stick up to the good moral beliefs from it (which is a good thing), but still there's plenty of room to move around within good moral beliefs.

I wouldn't mind a few changes. heck...collecting badges and defeating the E4 constantly is getting dull. A storyline change would be VERY nice...*wants to see TR dominate the world*

If you ever played a RPG game called Lufia, you will know what changing of battle systems is like, it can get pretty frustrating to get used to a new one.
I doubt Pokemon can copy battling systems, people may start thinking that it is becoming less original. I like the battle system the way it is, but new features are always welcome for me ^^

I'd like the ToS battling system to be implemented into Pokemon. It'd be much more entertaining than just selecting attacks. Just get rid of the speed factor so Ninjask would be as annoying. Or keep the speed factor and give it a new way of working.

Lufia was pretty fun. I've played Lufia: The Legend Returns and The Ruins of Lore (which I have yet to beat).

I like Lufia too. My favourite character vote would go to a villain called Erim =P
Anyway, I also think that Pokemon having just four attacks each at most at any one time is a bit too stingy, can't they add on more? It would be something like Dragon Warrior Monsters, whereby each monster can have at most 8 at one go.

I can totally relate to you people. I am so freaking sick of getting 8 badges and winning the League to beat the game. They need to come up with a new thing fot it. Maybe make it a point to defeat a main enemy that's really nasty or something. They could still have a League, just make it a side quest, not the way to beat the game...

I think it would be better if you happen to be living in a region which has been taken over by an evil organisation and then you will have to go and defeat it alone.
Team Rockets and so in the past games are just one small organisation that the minority of the people in the game support, so why not make it seem like the majority supports evil? I think it'll definitely improve the storyline in the games if my idea were to be used.

Yes,the games are getting EXTREMELY predictable but Pokemon seems to have a bright future ahead of it,with different kinds of games coming to the DS.

I like the predictability and the battle system. It's easy to learn yet difficult to master. Besides, the new games always have a buttload of extra features, so I always look forward to each one.

It would be cool if they didn't have the same thing over and over,It's basically always the same wheather it's Kanto or jhoto or hoenn.they have basically the same things.

It would be cool if they came up with away were after you beat the elite four and became champion that you can defend you title, and if you lose, try to become it again.

Im not saying theres a line of challengers, you still get to go out and do stuff.

Speaking of that, maybe when first starting pokemon, you could pick a design of 10 different characters. Like have 10 different head styles, 10 different hair styles, 10 different hair colors, bodies, feet, short or sout, short or tall, etc etc. Other RPG games like ToonTown and Ragnarok Online have that. xD

Yeah, they should change the storyline though. xD
