Is Pokemon XD worth buying?

Yeah, there's quite a number of differences that make it worthwhile.

First of all, the Shadow Pokemon you snag can get unique moves they wouldn't normally learn in other games. Most of the time the move is either Refresh, Heal Bell or Helping Hand, but some of them can be very useful, such as Zapdos who gets among other unique moves Metal Sound.

Second of all, the game is longer and much more substantial than Colosseum. You'll be starting off from L10 rather than L25, and the opponents go just as high, so it's more of a challenge.

Third, once you complete the game, you can get a Lucky Egg without having to spend months hunting down Chansey in FRLG Safari Zone. (Note: you can also snag a Chansey if you have trouble getting those). Lucky Egg is a held item which increases Exp gained by 1.5 times, making level training much quicker (and it stacks with traded Exp bonus as well).

Fourth: you can choose which Eevee evolution you play with throughout the game. Not that Espeon and Umbreon aren't very cool, but each has their own merits. Unfortunately you only get one, and can't trade off for breeding until after completing the game.

Fifth: You can get Lugia, one of the few legal ways of doing so. The other is via the Mystic Ticket, and they are only usually available at one-off special Nintendo events.

Sixth: You can get all three of the Johto starters, each sporting their respective Elemental Hyper Beam moves (Blast Burn for Cyndaquil, Frenzy Plant for Chikorita, Hydro Cannon for Totodile).

Just a few reasons to get XD.

I'll might get XD for my Wii,when it comes out....I wonder if it will be still avaible then? And if Colosseum will be in the shops or I'll have to buy it second-handed...

I love Pokemon XD and colossuem. But XD has more quests and shadow Pokemon.

Well, I've got XD. And compared to Coliseum, I find it quite harder. At the later stages of the game (spoilers beware) most of the trainers use more than one Shadow Pokemon, but I won't go into the intimate details.
If you're into finishing the game quickly, then I wouldn't recommend it, otherwise it is a great game.

Most defffinately, I had my hessitations at first because colluseum was kinda crummy, BUT XD makes up for it and then some.

Mine was worth it though o__O Like, if someone doesn't have a GC, then just buy the special pack that I bought, and the game come with it for free (cause the pack was 99$ and so was a GC) and then just buy Colosseum.

You save what was like, $50 at the time Xox ('twas Christmas when I got it)

I'd say it was worth it. I love XD...unlike Colosseum which lacked in alot, and it didn't hold my interest nearly as long as XD did. They're both kinda simular, but XD is pretty awesome in my opinion.

I've been tempted to buy the game but I'm worried it's just gonna be more less the same as colosseum and waste £30. Is there any difference's between the two games and what are they?
It is definitly worth buying. I really liked it. It has more pokemon to get than in Colesseum. But if you miss a pokemon, and it says you can get it back at the end of the game by battling Mirror B in colesseums, it is annoying waiting for him. o.o

XD is worth it. I got mine for $20 new, cause the local Toys R Us was closing... Yes, it is one of the few legal ways to get Lugia. I want the first one cause I rented it and never finished it.
