Is Shiny Charizard ex a rare card?

    I haven't bought Pokemon Cards for years but a local shop was having a clear out of there cards for just 50pence each (i live in the UK) and i bought 10 packs, and i got a Shiny Charizard ex (i have no idea what the ex means :P), he has 160 HP, It has Energy Flame poke-BODY(which turns all energy card's on Charizard into Fire type), and it's attacks are Slash and Burn Down, i want to know if it's rare because my friend who still buys them said it was but, as i already stated i haven't bought pokemon cards in years and im not up to date on all the new rares.
     
    that is one of the rarest cards!!! (next to my shiny rayquaza, that is)

    ...Uh...no it isn't. It's a regular Pokémon-ex card.

    My rarest would have to be a first-edition Sabrina's Alakazam (Gym Challenge). Either that or the holo Blaine Trainer card from the same set.
