Does pokemon have/need a GOV. system?
I THINK, There should be banks by/in IMPORTENT spots in the game.
Maybe a money system? Like my money goes to you - Your money goes to me.
    Taxes?

    Nonsense, anarchy rules.
I believe that the Pokemon world is a socialist country.

  • I believe there is some sort of government, but we don't hear about it because the show focuses on a couple of kids/teens, who only care about pokemon, and don't give a hoot about who the president is. Of course, as long as it isn't Giovanni (;

To your second question: Depending on who you ask, Ash's age is any where between 12 and 17. I, personally, believe he is in the 14-15 range.

  • I doubt they even have a government. I bet they all just go about and do their own crazy thing. Awesome **** right there.

Ash? Jeez. Technically he should be in his 20's now. But.
    He's obviously about 14 or 15 IMO.

I wonder if by socialist, people mean national socialist; you ever noticed how there are no black people whatsoever?
    I jest, poorly.

The game regions are those of Japan, thus Pokemon is (primarily) set in Japan, thus subject to whatever government they have.

  • ash's age depends on how u look it....in our world we take age as days gone by but in pokemon world it's like episodes gone by...because their 1 day = 1 episode.so according to this

there have been 623 episodes in anime(japan) so that makes 623 days after ash's start

now we know that some arcs and battles/contests take more than 1 episode but for them it's still the one day so i'll subtract about 90 episodes

    623- 90 = 533
so there u go ...it's been ~533 days since ash's departure from pallet town ...if he was 1o yrs and 1o months he would be about 12 yrs..Guess that solves it all :)

  • I always believed that the Pokemon Nation was governed by the Pokemon League. XD

After a bit more knowledge was obtained (particularly how the E4 were depicted in the manga), I came to believe that the Pokemon Nation has a government, but it is fairly weak, and possibly socialist. but then again, nobody will really know because the games don't focus on politics, they focus on you, the trainer, catching ur pokeymans. XD

  • The Pokemon World is an anarchist world, meaning it doesn't have a government. If it did have a government, then Team Rocket, Team Galactic, etc would be outlawed or be put out of business. Although there is an obvious police force, there doesn't seem to be a government.

I have noticed a few black people in the anime. If you watch carefully, there are:

    1) The construction worker in Dig Those Diglett
    2) One of the thugs in The Lost Lapras

I think I may have noticed a few others but those are the ones what I remember.

  • Geez, Pokemon World is not a country.

Obviously, in the Pokemon Universe exist respective counterparts of each country and place of the real world. It should be no question about whether they have a government. Regions we know are organized; socially, politically, religiously, and in any other sector.

However, it doesn't have to be that Pokemon World's Japan and Pokemon World's Italy follow same political ideas and such. As far as we know Kanto, Johto and the known regions, seem to be either Capitalistic or Socialistic communities. For all it matters, Anarchy, Monarchy or any other extreme political direction by today's standards don't take place.
