[Eventing Question] Is there a way to read and copy the exp of a party pokémon and apply it to a gift pokémon?

Yes, assuming you have the gift pokemon as variable gift_mon and the party pokemon as party_mon, you can do
Ruby:
gift_mon.exp = party_mon.exp
gift_mon.calc_stats
Mind that they really should have the same growth rate or you may get unexpected levels.
https://essentialsengine.miraheze.org/wiki/Editing_a_Pokémon is a good page on the wiki to read, when it comes to getting the party mon.
