Is this idea possible?

This is my first thread here and while I have played MANY ROM Hacks, but I have never built one...
So my question to the community... Is the following game idea possible?

It is a game where you start in the Kanto Region and once you beat the E4 and complete the pokedex you travel to the Johto region! Once you complete the Johto Region's dex and E4 you unlock the Hoenn Region. Once you finish the Hoenn Region you unlock the Sevii Islands and Orange Islands to play through.
In those Islands you can find Alolan Pokemon and even some special event pokemon that were in the Anime such as the Crystal Onix (Sunburst Island) and pink pokemon from Pinkan Island.

Ideally I would like to build it using Crystal, but I understand Emerald is the easier ROM to work from.

Any and all feedback / ideas / opinions are welcome and I would love to talk shop with you all!

emerald is easier than crystal, but the thing is for a binary hack, emerald is still lacking compared to fire red.

But if you instead do decomp, then using emerald becomes the better option.
Based on the things you want to do I highly recommend you do decomp, and start with pokeemerald.

this group has already added most all of the pokemon up to gen 8 with their moves & abilities.

Also using decomp will allow you to more easily get around the dex issue. As there is usually a hard limit of only 999 dex entires.
But you can change that with decomp.


My advice is this, if you want to start with kanto, download that one I sent above, and also pokefirered.
Then add the firered maps, into the data, and edit the files to change your starting point, for a new game to palette town.

Following that you'll need to do some major script work to rework things so they flow correctly.
