Okay, this is a random topic to bring up, but yeah, of course it's okay. Why else do you think Ebay has so much doujinshi for sale?

Puh-leeze. In Japan it's often ENCOURAGED by a lot of published mangaka! You know how the mangaka of CLAMP, that very famous manga company, got their start? As doujinshi artists.

Of course, that is a good point about how if you sell doujinshi of something that a company HERE has rights to, then you could easily get busty. Seems Westerners (Americans in particular) are just super-uptight about copyright rules. No wonder the Japanese are better at capitalism than the people who invented it. 'Cause the people who invented it don't realize that allowing fanmade stuff to be sold will INCREASE the profits of the official stuff, not DECREASE it.

As a manga maker, I often wonder these things.
Would it be all right if you could make a Pokemon doujinshi and sell it on the internet?
I actually make tiny Pokemon manga stories about Clair so could I legally sell them on the internet if I wanted to.
    Thanks in advance.

sure I'll post some of my work as soon as I buy a scanner that will work on my computer with Internet.^^
I think it would be ok to sell doujinshi if I don't make a actual profit because it takes me $5.00 to make one book and i would sell it for $6.00 and have a $1.00 profit and if I get alot of orders the left over $1.00 will be used for the suppys I bought to make my dojinshis like ink and manga paper plus i have made alot more orginal manga which i need the money i make from dojinshi to help me make my orginal manga.

Doujinshi basically are fan comics of original work. However they just have a very nasty reputation because majority of them are slash fictions / porn. Non porn doujins are *extremely rare* and fetch high prices.

yes the debate of selling doujins is quite a crazy one. I know US doesn't allow the selling of fan products but seemingly JP doesn't mind. I guess on Ebay even if you sell off a Doujin (and not say it's yours) you can still make something from it.
